If you search the 247 recruiting rankings for Clemson it shows the all time highest rated recruits at the bottom of the page

https://247sports.com/college/clemson/Season/2023-Basketball/Commits/

Thanks, I didn't know that.***

Wow, Duke’s 25th rated player of all time at .9961 would be our #1 recruit ever. Wonder how far down their list you have to go to get to a 4 star.

Their 45th-highest ranked recruit would be our #1

and the rankings only go back to 1999.

Skip Wise and Stan Rome were both PARADE All-Americans back

Jan 30, 2023, 6:45 PM

when that was the main arbiter of the best of the best in high school hoops.

Therefore, Tates Locke was by far our “best recruiter” …

Those two guys would be ranked head and shoulders above any of the more recent players like Milton Jennings and Noel Johnson and PJ Hall who 247 says are our all time top recruits since they started paying attention.

Now, how Tates managed to lure to Clemson and the negative impact of the ensuing NCAA probation are another discussion.

You add Tree Rollins and you just named our top three of all time. Had some sleepers that were not highly rated but grew and matured into top tier talent. Larry Nance must have sprouted about about three inches and Horace Grant close to that. Two fantastic players but that's been so long ago that it's hard to even put it into perspective. Nobody since that era has been any more than a role player or substitute in the NBA that I can recall. A dry spell of almost 30 years.

We've had more Parade All America recruits than I realized

I dumped the table to .csv and filtered on Clemson...

Alan Goldfarb? I go back a long way but that name escapes.

As I recall, Parade Magazine had a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd team as well as Honorable mention each year.

The second column says what team they were on.

I didn't realize I left that off
