However, I have watched every draft pick from Clemson and I’ve held my thoughts until now. Factoring in my bias, these analyst have been critical of every Clemson Draftee except Christian Wilkins. Then, to gush over most every other pick. What gives? I don’t know what they are seeing and what my untrained, unprofessional eyes aren’t seeing but it seems we are an outcast program that still gets little media respect( at least the NFL analysts.) I’m stumped.

Who cares? They talk about most picks similarly. Too sensitive. It's just the way they ranked their players so now they are commenting. Its nothing. Just about everyone outside of our fans thought Clelin went slightly too high. So they thought he should go 13th? Big deal.

They rag on SEC players too. They point out the good and the bad. That's their job. Watch when TL goes first, it will all be glowing though. Players like that are rare. Way over 90% of the others drafted they talk about the good and the bad.

You can usually breakdown the media's response to the 1st Round as follows

Picks 1-10
(a) If a Bama player ..... "That's a great pick, he'll make an instant impact."
(b) All other players ..... "I had him going in the teens, they've overreached with this pick."

Picks 11-20
"That's just about where I predicted he would go. A solid pick.

Picks 21-32
(a) If an SEC player ..... "I thought he'd go a little higher, he's a steal."
(b) All other players .... "This is where I thought he'd go. Another good pick."

A few of our guys just got drafted higher than most people

were projecting them. The "draft analysts" say the same thing every year when players get drafted higher than projected. Most people thought Clelin was going in the late teens and Dex late in the 1st or early 2nd. Both went ~12-15 slots higher than projected so the analysts all had to talk about how it might be a reach to draft them there. That's just how these things go every year and they do it regardless of what school the kid is from.
