Echo chamber version: This has nothing to do with Disney being full of and run by a bunch of woke snowflakes. This is the normal course of business and Disney will be stronger after this. Disney will continue supporting conversion of normal kids to trannies and conversion of white supremacist versions of traditional Disney characters to LGBTQ+IA characters.

CEO Bob Iger began outlining plans for downsizing soon after returning to the top job last November. One area targeted for cuts has been the centralized distribution organization created by his predecessor, Bob Chapek. Kareem Daniel, who led Disney Media and Entertainment Distribution, was let go from the company on Iger’s first official day back at the controls following Chapek’s ouster.

I guess we see the problem; you just read the headline without examining the article. There was a lot at play with his ouster.
If they had a problem with him being "woke," then why does Disney continue to fight and #### off DeSantis after he's gone?

And they aren’t continuing the woke stuff. They’re trying to counter what DeSantis did legally. Big difference. Iger said it was counterproductive for Disney to get involved in political stuff like that.

Maybe, just maybe the $1.5B loss with Disney+ had something to do with consumer backlash over that same public LGBTQ clash between Disney and DeSantis?

Chapek vowed to assemble a content task force to become a “force for good” for the LGBTQ movement.
In April, a poll found more than 68 percent of general-election voters said they are less likely to do business with Disney after reports that it plans to include sexual ideology in new content for children.
At the time an executive producer admitted to advancing a “not-at-all-secret gay agenda” to insert queerness into children’s animation during a Disney staff meeting on Florida’s Parental Rights in Education legislation.
Chapel’s handling of the quarrel with DeSantis led to (1) consumer backlash against Disney -&- (2) Disney being put at great risk of losing control of the special tax district status.
(*). Disney’s theme park business will probably continue to be good. Parents can be with their little ones and (try to) steer the kids away from weirdo exhibits and activities. In-home access to Disney+, on the other hand, can be easily controlled by the parents who choose to either subscribe or not subscribe.
(***). Logical conclusion is that he got fired for the ham-handled way in which he dealt with DeSantis. (Iger wouldn’t have done any better, but he could conveniently pin this tail on Chapek’s donkey.)
