Deer Mr. The Big Dog,

I'm sorry I argued with you. I rationalized that it's possible to explain faith. I apologize.

"To one who has faith,
no explanation is necessary.
To one without faith,
no explanation is possible."

Thomas Aquinas, 1225 - 1274

That's a good one. I always liked this one as well. It's sort of an alternate path to the same endpoint.

"The key to wisdom is this - constant and frequent questioning, for by doubting we are led to question and by questioning we arrive at the truth."

-Peter Abelard

I agree. Over the years I've had some serious questions about God, how things are and why they are that way. I asked Him. Some questions weren't answered until years, sometimes decades later. He never refuse me, He just said 'Wait.'

There's enough obvious truth in His Word to satisfy a man who has faith in Him but there are many life questions which require patients. I've found the time between asking and the time of understanding to be as valuable as the answer. For some questions it takes a long time to get answers because it takes a certain time to be prepared to receive truth.

I believe some truths are only revealed when a certain level of spiritual maturity is reached. I'm reconciled to the fact that some of my questions will go unanswered because I will never reach the a maturity in which I can receive that truth.

God doesn't limit our understanding, our level of maturity limits us. "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." James 1:5

Wisdom includes faith, patients and everything else we need to accept understanding.

Faith and Wisdom are separate things

Don't stop at James 1:5, you must include 6-8!

6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering: for he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

~Your points are valid that God does not limit our knowledge or understanding BUT Wisdom is a different thing which requires sincere Faith in the will of God revealed in His Word and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

That is well said.***

It's obvious that Peter Abelard wrote that before modern times because if one dares to question anything today that goes against a leftist approved "narrative" one will be immediately marked for cancellation and cast out as a "denier", a "phobe", or an "ist". In today's narrative driven insanity, all science is settled - it is simply what the left's narrative dictates...

Responding to a skeptic with the whole faith thing to me is just a cop out.

A refusal to examine and seek truth because you’re scared of what you might find.

I know the truth. Jesus said 'I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh to the father but by me."

I have no fear of what anyone says, I have God's love. God's love is perfect. Perfect love cast out fear. I know God better than I knew my earthly father, better than my wife of 30 years and better than you know anyone. No man opens his heart to another as does God open His heart to we who believe on His Son.

If God isn't calling you then there is no need for us to continue any attempts to find common ground. I answered questions and none of my responses satisfied you. Your goal is to confound, you do not seek understanding.

I believe the Bible is God's Word. Front to back, side to side. If God couldn't produce, protect and provide His Holy Word to me I would respect Him about as much as I respect Baal or Ra.

But like I said in the other thread, it’s a valid question to point out that verses have been added like the ending of Mark among others. It’s also valid to point out that Jesus gave multiple ways to reach heaven.
