Before I could even spell Clemson

I was a South Carolina State fan. MEAC champs 9 times in 10 years from 1974-1983. Some of my heroes were Deacon Jones, Donnie Shell, Harry Carson, and later Charlie Brown. I remember watching the Bill Davis Show as a kid. Years later, it was a thrill when I first met Coach Willie Jeffries, only to later become good friends with the legend. I have also met Coach Buddy Pough, although I will never know him like I did Jeffries. I have known university presidents, athletic directors, and faculty members. I have been to numerous functions and events. Heck, I even used to service the ATM in the center of campus. I am an Orangeburg boy, so I will always be a Bulldog fan.

But first and foremost, I am a Clemson Tiger! Let’s go! Beat the Bulldogs!

when we played away & state was home me and some buddies went to Buldog stadium.nobody lest their seats at 1/2

Hey griff! When I was the Senior Counselor and Director of Guidance at Saluda HS, I got to know Willie Jeffries pretty well. We talked a lot about "my" players. He was a remarkable man, whom I loved dearly. I don't know Coach Pough, but I think he might be cut from the same cloth as Willie! I always hate to play games like this because I hurt for the players and their parents. That being said, I still wanna beat the slop out of them. :)

But Coach Jeffries is one of a kind. Love the man. And Coach Pough is most certainly a Willie disciple. As much as the University has gone through, they should be very proud of both men!
