Sorry folks, but we lose big tomorrow night. BV and his boys have pulled us out of more holes than any of us should care to count, but with the O adding Quaalude to their gatorade for 1/4 of the season, it is too late to pull it together for this game.
The D will show us, but be gassed midway through the 3rd. This is the game which shows that Watson still isnt his old self and the line, talented though they are, for some reason just aint up to the task.
I would love a triple over time win for this sort of like those games we played against Miami a few years ago - real slugfest, but with us coming out on top. FWIW, it is a big game and this could help, but Louisville's talent appears to be better coached than our O and our D cannot win this game for us.

Don't give me the I'm just a realist bit. Our O will be ready and the D will mostly contain LJ enough to keep it close at worst. We won't get blown out. All I have seen is:
BV has our back
Our D is better than anything they have seen.
Jackson hasnt played against the kind of pressure our D and our fans (at night, no less) will bring.
We got Watson
Watson and the O are going to start clicking
We've been holding back the playbook (waiting, it is suggested, for a worthy opponent)
The O has really begun to come together since Troy...
Some of you want to call me a coot - nope, lifelong Clemson fan. BUT you all are the ones acting like coots with all your excuses and thin as vapor hopes.
I dont know what the problem is with the O, but the D cant simply carry us against a ready and capable opponent. I hope I am proven miserably wrong, but we have what looks a lot like loser's pride going on here the past week or two. Something isnt working this season even though we have all the talent we could hope for on the field and on the sidelines.
Should I be correct, we will have lost to a capable opponent which would not have been the case had we lost to Auburn or GT. There is some honor in this, I suppose, but all that talent we have has caused me nothing but frustration since Auburn. We should be causing the lightbulbs on the score board to be blowing up, but we are averaging less points and yardage this year than last and Louisville has had our number for a couple of years now.
Maybe a loss is what is needed to get the offense to wake up. But our hopes for a NC will likely be dashed if we do lose no matter who else we beat or how soundly.
Keep calling names, but when Watson is running for life instead of yards and the receivers cant catch a cold, which is what I fear, then only one outcome is reasonably expected.

Obviously no one knows what will happen until a game is actually played, but let's look at this. Louisville has played a Syracuse team with no defense, a Charlotte team that has only existed a couple of years, a bad Marshall team, and a Florida State team with a panicky freshman quarterback and a defense that underestimated them. They haven't seen a defense anywhere close to our caliber and we certainly won't underestimate them. And our offense, even playing without clicking on all cylinders, is better than anything they have had to defend so far. Death Valley is one of the hardest places in the country to play if you are an opponent, and it will rock even worse on a Saturday night with the fans having all day to get ready(and lubricated) for this game. I see this game as the hot young gunslinger trying to make a name for himself against the older, more experienced gun fighter of many duels in the old guy's home turf. To be the man, Louisville has to beat the man. And although that could happen, I kinda freaking doubt it.

Your's is one of the more sensible posts Ive seen regarding this game. And before I go much further, I am amazed at the stupidity of most of the posts I have seen here regarding this game. If I didn't know better, the content of the posts could have me fooled that this was a USC board. Anyhow, With the exception of FSU, I agree that our schedule has seen us better tested than Louisville's. However, I cannot overlook FSU. Who was the last team to spank them that hard? Oregon made them look pretty stupid, but even a Christian might say that was karma getting them. Granted, FSU isnt what it used to be, but they are always in the running - and they got murdered out there. Not only, but Louisville has given us all we could handle the past two years.
I will confess to forgetting about the remainder of Louisville's season last year - not so great. And I will never forget our the ending of our season last year, but with Louisville's offense appearing most capable, we cannot do as we have in too many games and simply rely on our defense if we are to win. And because our offense seems to have had such poor traction so far, I just cannot expect a happy ending.
ANyhow, hope I am wrong and you all are right.
