Both of these guys are drains on the University

Jul 13, 2022, 9:11 AM

As an alum AND fan, its disgusting to see these guys try and profit off of these kids. The streets don't forget that Boulware was responsible for the Ostarine issue a few years back.

Please forgive me, @IneligibleUser

By This Logic The Whole of CFB is Disgusting

Jul 13, 2022, 9:16 AM

It's about $$ for players, schools, partners etc. You get a money, and you get a money and everyone gets money.

I have not gotten a single dime of money from

the University, NIL, IPTAY, or Dabo Swinney himself.

Jul 14, 2022, 1:28 AM

Funny because I bet you wouldn't say that in January 2017 when he helped Clemson with the National Championship, and gave the most inspired speech at the parade. Recruits might be reading this, bud.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Ben Boulware go Away!

Jul 14, 2022, 11:19 AM

Nope. No one would say that in 2017.

But this is 2022. And in case no read the fine print, giving fans direct access to players is one the dumbest things they could do.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Thanks but no thanks.....

Jul 13, 2022, 11:04 AM

Darien Rencher was the abject social-justice-warrior pushing that BS BLM narrative on campus in 2020. Guessing his narrative has changed like the rest of the media who were attempting to capitalize on some life-long felons public death.

Have a good day, gentlemen.

Re: Thanks but no thanks.....

Jul 13, 2022, 11:17 AM

Lol never seems to amaze me , people like you always remind me that there's something in those hills in Clemson and its not all positive. Racists in those hills still heavy .

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Thanks but no thanks.....

Jul 13, 2022, 11:36 AM

I must have missed where putting any specific race on a pedestal is "socially progressive".

Guessing you're here to exude your daily-helping of virtue-signaling?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: Thanks but no thanks.....

Jul 13, 2022, 11:55 AM

that's crazy that you mention a pedestal , when this country was built on putting a certain race on a pedestal. I'll stop there tho don't want the back and forth lets agree to disagree.

Re: Thanks but no thanks.....

Obviously you haven't read the founding documents if you believe that. Your Right though, we have been fighting racist Democrats for a long long time.

Re: Thanks but no thanks.....

Jul 16, 2022, 11:07 AM

Look at the voting record of the repukes they are very racist

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The definition of "racist" . . .

Jul 14, 2022, 12:27 AM [ in reply to Re: Thanks but no thanks..... ]

Racist: One who disagrees with leftists.

. . . and so, resistance is futile . . . which is the point of re-writing the dictionary. They are Orwellian.

This is a Clemson message board, sir. Keep that stuff on your own facebook. What you should be doing is subscribing to their service. If you were actually following Palmetto Cat Crew, you'd know the live chats they're doing are awesome.

I'll wait on an endorsement from Dabo and or the administration and then I'll be "All In" with my $200.

Virtue Signaling Karen, here....

Jul 14, 2022, 11:27 AM [ in reply to Re: Thanks but no thanks..... ]

...criticizing posts AGAINST NIL, is literally the same person that wrote this:

"IMO, this isn't sustainable long term. Eventually everyone, including the big time donors, are going to stop "funding" college football. Because the schools, players, NCAA, and tv networks are the only ones making money while the fans and alumni keep paying money? Not sustainable. The FedGov needs to step in and just make the revenue generating sports profit sharing so we can get back to true college athletics.

Btw, don't forget to thank California and their consistently failed, far left policies that created this. Funny how Lincoln Riley left OKLAHOMA in the middle of the night for busted USC. Riley knew they were going to buy players for the next era of CFB, and it's all played out now. What a snake. lol"

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Ben I get, but don't understand the push Rencher keeps getting

Jul 13, 2022, 11:53 AM

Has any other 4th string player been so hyped and pushed like this?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I don't see that this goes anywhere except

Jul 13, 2022, 11:58 AM

for being a player distraction.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm afraid it's much weirder than that ...

Jul 14, 2022, 12:50 AM

It may well end up being a distraction, but it's also a huge turn-off to many fans who can smell the sense of inflated self-importance from a mile away. $200 a year to screw around on discord or at a meet & greet w/ a cadre of college students you don't know - who you may share little in common with, and who may not have anything of social or intellectual value to add to your life that you can't find at church, or work, or amongst colleagues, or in books, or by learning a new skill or joining a book club, or a shooting range, or taking art classes! Is this who we are now? Paying money to get "access" to college students? I admire and respect their athletic talent, their deep dedication and discipline to developing themselves, and their representation of the University, but we're losing our sense of scale and proportion and priorities, here. I'm not saying college football is going to collapse overnight or anything , but this is one more crack in the culture of the sport. Slowly - degree by degree, they are going to alienate the fan base. I suppose it'll take a while, but the trajectory is towards a more inward, self-serving culture.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Re: I'm afraid it's much weirder than that ...

Jul 14, 2022, 7:55 AM

I suppose it may help with keeping us somewhat relevant in the crazy NIL world.
I don't know...just a thought.

The dweebs on here criticizing Boulware and Rencher are not worthy enough to rinse out their underwear.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Right!

Jul 13, 2022, 3:09 PM

Because silly people doing silly things should never be criticized!

And I haven’t worn a pair underwear in over 30 years.

Come to think of it I don’t think I’ve worn a pair of socks in 20 years.

I rarely post but felt inclined to after reading this. Add me to the list of those who say no thanks. Sickening what is happening to college football now. I hate pro sports because of money and politics and now it’s invaded college football. Might as well call it semi-pro as that’s where it’s basically heading.

Call me crazy, but I don't think this will help our players

Jul 13, 2022, 4:59 PM

have The Eye of the Tiger, which has been missing for a few seasons now. They don't need one more distraction. But hey, I am old school. I'd like to see them not be on social media after fall practice ends. Just like the '15-'19 teams did. But those teams just won two Natties. So what do I know?

You should know that "right or wrong" those days are gone. I lean your way but....

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There is nothing wrong with this. But not my cup of tea.

Jul 13, 2022, 5:06 PM

You can bet that there will be stories over the coming years about players being taken advantage of in the "NIL Space" and how unfair that is.

I don't know DR or BB personally, but if they want this to be successful in the long term, their business model needs to truly benefit the active players. If it doesn't, it will not last long.

DR and BB represented the university quite well during their time as Tigers and deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Re: TNET: Ben Boulware and Darien Rencher partner in NIL space bringing unique experience to fans

Jul 13, 2022, 5:14 PM

I don't get all the criticism. NIL is here and I guess some want to fall further behind. Ben and Rench are doing something to help our current student athletes and obviously they have signed on bc there is literally a promo from said players just right above us. If you want to support it then support it but if you don't then don't. It's not hard and not worth all the hubbub. Either we those willing to be apart and help build NIL with and for Clemson or Clemson falls further behind and while it may not affect many guys we recruit if it does just a handful it's worth it. Trust me I can't stand where college sports are going. I feel if you think college's are taking advantage of you by giving you a free education, dorms and all the amenities one could ask for then don't go to college. This is America where freedom reigns regardless of what some on the Left may tell you and nobody is strong arming you into going to college to play football. If it is that much of a burden and you feel these universities are monetizing your ability and making all this money, though over 90% of universities athletic departments operate in the red then go ahead finish high school and work the rest out for yourself. This world is going down fast and in a hurry. Everyone owes someone who gets a offended whether you bend the knee or not.

I’ve got a boy who bleeds orange and his favorite memories are of getting field passes one time and meeting E-Mac (before acc network), talking to Tajh about video games, giving Ben all of his football heros a high five as they finished up warm ups. Etc etc etc. You are out of your mind if you think this kind of thing would make memories for the same kind of kids! I know I’m in!!

Anyone whining about this is missing the point, but maybe that’s not the point for some of you keyboard warriors.

Sometimes I hate this site because I know the guys I see on Saturdays in the fall are not represented here.

I am super excited for the Palmetto Cat project. If the product is well designed and updated regularly, this is something we should get behind. If they pull off a golf tournament that the subscribers can play in and meet players that’s worth the $200 by itself. All in!

Re: TNET: Ben Boulware and Darien Rencher partner in NIL space bringing unique experience to fans

Jul 14, 2022, 8:13 AM

I see a lot of emotional comments and valid opinions being expressed. This is Clemson University
Football folks.
Let's wait to see what Dabo has to say about this program.
Maybe he has already but maybe he has more to say. He will be honest and forthright.
I hope everybody will be patient and express themselves in a way that unites rather than devides. I'm sure there are trolls on here trying to stir the pot and also those that speaking from the heart. But be nice, Say your opinion, but be nice. Say your opinion but be respectful. Be nice. Most on here are true Clemson fans. But be nice.
Just my opinion.

Re: TNET: Ben Boulware and Darien Rencher partner in NIL space bringing unique experience to fans

Boulware is a has been still trying to profit off his playing time at Clemson. I have never been a fan really other than he was a gritty player who's passion for the game was much more than his physical abilities on the field. This entire NIL is BS and sad that the active players are the lowest part of the food chain with scam artists like this skimming money off the top to profit off others.
