That's right. I'm done with Deshaun. And you should too. I was willing to stand by him at first because I know he's a target for salacious lawsuits, but the evidence that has come out lately, and the sheer number of allegations against him, are too much to ignore or brush aside. I wish DW would get his life in order, but I'm not going to cheer him on as a Clemson man any longer.
A Clemson man needs no introduction? Neither should he need a lawyer on retainer to defend against sexual assault allegations, nor should we have to qualify to other people, "Well Deshaun is a good kid that just made some mistakes."
These were no mistakes. These were the sins of someone who let wealth and fame go to his head to the point where he thought he was owed a rub and tug from what were clearly women who had no idea what they were about to get into. I'm no prude. Whatever he wants to do in his own bedroom with a consenting partner is fine with me. Where I draw the line is 20+ cases of sexual activities that clearly rose to the level of fear/shame/discomfort with the ladies involved. Heck, even if he was doing the dirty with 20+ prostitutes that would still be a bridge too far for a supposed "role model" to young girls and boys. It's gross. Did he miss the lessons during puberty about self-care? Come on.
Would I draft DW in a mock-draft right now? Maybe. Would I let DW be a role model for my young son? Absolutely not. And I think that's pretty telling of where my heart is now. So today while my young son is at school I will be removing his posters and DW jersey, and discarding them in the trash.
Good luck DW. When you come into town for the Panthers game, I won't boo you, but I won't cheer for you. I hope you get your life together and evaluate where you are putting your treasures. As a Clemson man, we had higher expectations. I know your heart is good somewhere in you. Please find it and stop subjecting unsuspecting young women to your untamable carnal desires. It's gross, illegal, and a desperate cry for help.

a mistake is when you do something wrong you didn't intend to or mean to do. In DW's case these were bad decisions on his part.
I'm sick of how people who intentionally do something wrong try later to pass it off as a "mistake."
DW's a great football player but that doesn't make up for the wrong things he's done.

Ok Jimmy, I guess Deshaun also forced these alleged women on their knees as well…. Don’t act like it’s just his fault, it takes 2 to tango my friend. They could’ve easily said no and walked the he** out. But no, they actively participated and continued to enable the situation. Is Watson innocent? absolutely not. But to put 100% of the blame on him I don’t agree with. These women also knew what they were doing… they are not as innocent as you betray them. That’s exactly why more and more men are walking away and choosing to be on their own.

I agree that there are plenty of women in this case that PROBABLY and likely going for a money grab, but if you look at this thing from a probability stand point, just use facts and logic, but mainly facts, he had 66 women massage him, even if it was just 1 of those 66, and your point would say he just happens to shoot 100% for prostitutes masquerading as masseuses… the math just isn’t there. And there are a ton of women in the suit the DW and the women acknowledge had no sexual contact, they left when he harassed them. That’s the crime, doesn’t matter if it’s 1 or 24, any is too much and illegal and a crime.

But on the other side I could potentially see a lot of women reaching for a part of that money bag DW has. The thing is we will never really know. Regardless I hope both sides resolved the issue at hand and learn and be better from this horrible situation and never let this happen again.

am very disappointed with DW since I sincerely felt he was the football poster player for Clemson football sports as well as an extremely moral young man especially with his loving his Mom and seemed to always show grace & humility.
But, I sin in mind & body (like craving & giving into eating deadly Fat & sugary ice cream..and think bad thoughts about this current political administration)..
and now we know our beloved & talented Natty Champ QB is more human than we knew.
Saying, he being of good heart & sound mind will see (and has seen) what his physical & mental weaknesses caused in pain & disappointment to many..including himself.
And, he will move on and grow from this.

He's not guilty of the alleged crime, as two grand juries have failed to indict him.
I believe he did break the law, in the he solicited prostitution. However, he can't be charged for that now.
I would say for that reason, he could have violated any morals clause in his contract.
Regarding selling the cases, I don't think that would have made any sense. The reason you would settle would be to either keep the allegations private, or to avoid prosecution. The grand juries failed to indict, so there wouldn't be any reason to settle for that reason. The allegations also became public at the very beginning, so there isn't really any reason to settle after the fact.

And that’s what this boils down to for the women who did not partake in any sexual activities with him and left once he propositioned them or made a move on them. Any boss who does this goes to jail, these are independent contractors and in essence he was their boss for the moment. Plenty of illegal things he could have been charged with, it’s just he said she said and no evidence either way, so a grand jury could no charge him.

What DW does while in the league does reflect on Clemsom. I, too, really appreciated his good character and humble ways while he was here at Clemson. You must admit that it was a GIVEN that he would become a member of the "Ring of Honor", now it might very much be in question. You can say that that honor is for what he did while at Clemson, but how will it look to kids who know what he did, being honored in such a way. DW was my favorite Clemson football player of all time, and I graduated from Clemson a couple of years after our first NC. Going from what he had to live through as a kid, and having to mature so quickly with what happened to his mother, to winning a NC at Clemson, going to the league, and signing a quarter of a billion dollar plus contract was amazing. Now, I think about his mother, and what she thinks of this situation. I know it shouldn't be this way but people judge parents by what their children do. I am sure she was the proudest mom on earth after he signed the contract with the Texans, now not so much. I hope DW straightens up, gets to play in the NFL, and gets a second chance to make everyone proud of him again.

While I agree that what he allegedly did was much more significant than many Clemson fans seem to admit, it doesn't undo the positive aspects of who he is. Perhaps this ordeal has taught him some valuable lessons, and reminded him of the man he likely intended to be before he allowed fame and fortune to affect him.
While I agree that he's not currently the role model you would want your son to emulate, perhaps he can become that person. Let's give him a chance to redeem himself.

Athletes are not always the best role models for kids. Some are, some aren’t. I remember Charles Barkley putting it very well - Charles wanted to tell parents, 'I can't be a role model for your kid. Your kid doesn't know me. I can be an athletic hero, but a role model should be a mom, a dad, an aunt, an uncle, someone the kid has contact with.
Then LeBron said - Once you become a professional athlete or once you do anything well, then you're automatically a role model.
At this point I think Chuck has become the better role model if I had to choose one of them. LeBron thinks that title should be handed to him along with anything else he wants.

While I agree he’s not completely innocent and obviously has some sexual issues. I still believe this to be a big money grab and majority of these girls are part of a scam to set him up and get paid. I also think DW4 went into these appointments hoping for sex. I have little doubt about that. But I also don’t think he forced himself on anyone and I don’t think he sexually assaulted anyone. Harnessed? Maybe.
I find it interesting you used the word “sin”. I’m assuming your a Christian since you used that term. But if your are a Christian then you shouldn’t cast him away like trash as if a man can’t change. I pray DW4 truly turns to Christ and gets help. I will still cheer for him on a football field because he’s an amazing player and nothing has come out that says he definitely raped those women. I still hope he gets some help.

I know there is greatness in DW, so I will not write him off. But he needs to recognize that greatness is not a right, and is not a goal that you reach and it is your forever. Greatness must be demonstrated every day. DW has fallen short, as we all have at times.
It will take a while, but I believe that he is contrite and has learned from this. The painful wait for closure is part of the deal.

I got daughters and granddaughters. My half-full side says DW4’s failing was mostly naïveté. He did not have sufficient life experience to realize that, given the opportunity, many/most will take advantage of you.
But he also clearly went in there with sexual intent and expectation, so his behavior was at best, really dumb.

If Deshaun found these women advertising on social media and not at a legit spa or massage business, they know why men are making appointments with them. If they don’t expect to have moves made on them they are naive and shouldn’t be in that business. I haven’t seen their pictures on their social media accounts but you can bet when they are advertising for business there are some revealing clothes and/or provocative poses. They know if they want to attract business they need to look as sexy as possible. Women understand other women better than men do. If you’re going to be in that business you need to be less gullible and more worldly. Do I think Deshaun pushed the envelope? Absolutely. Do I think their previous customers have pushed the envelope? Absolutely. What was different with Deshaun? Lots of $$$$ and opportunity there. Do I feel sorry for these women? Not really. They are either extremely naive or extremely greedy.

I have no idea how old you are, but based on your reply I don’t think you understand how social media, is used today. A big chunk of people use it to advertise a personal, business, product or service. I have a ton of buddies that have just gotten in really good shape, got some followers and use it to try and be a personal trainer. This is no different than that, if you took the time to read the deposition and the discovery papers, you’ll see a lot of the women legit just left and performed no sexual acts once propositioned. Imagine being a person, man or woman, and you are trying to get clients for what you want to be your career and a huge celebrity messages you for your services. This could be huge and in theory open the door to really launch your business and change your life, whether you think it will be shout outs on social media or word of mouth referrals to his colleagues. Then you get flown in and sexually attacked, imagine how traumatic that is, I can’t believe anyone would not have empathy for that group of women in this suit, simply trying to make a living or start a career. Read the paper work, there were a lot that would fall into that category and are now probably damaged and scarred for life by the way DW treated them.

I can almost guarantee that every man on this board has some skeletons in the closet that they hope nobody ever finds out, especially their kids. I know I do. DW 4 learned an expensive lesson, but we all have and that is what grace is for! If you put your faith in any man but one, you are setting yourself up for failure.

Jimmy, if DW was just a little more like DT and would have just paid off multiple #### stars, or cheated on their wifes, having multiple affairs while his wifes we're at home pregnant. Or saying he likes to grab women by their privates all the while happily married. Or saying he loved going to his beauty pageants and going back stage and watching while the teenage girls were changing. Or better yet if he was only a really good friend with Jeffrey Epstein and took hundreds of photos at his get togethers with him all the while Epstein was sex trafficking young girls. Now, that would have been accepted behavior by many so called christians and he would have been worshipped like the second coming of Jesus Christ. Do you feel the same way about DT like you do DW? If not you are a hippocrate just like so many are!!!

Agree with you completely. Yea he's a great athlete, but where is the line drawn between idolizing athletes to the point of ignoring their character flaws vs them being an exceptional athlete?
Its not hard to find willing women, can't imagine how easy it could be, if one choose to, being a pro athlete. Why pay for it?
