Been listening to national radio this morning and they keep

Dec 31, 2021, 10:39 AM

harping on the Purdues vs. Tenn. game. Well, if I was Tenn I would hate it too. But, in reality, the running back's forward momentum was stopped AND CONSIDERING the ticky tack personal foul calls WE have received lately, you know good and well that if a linebacker or DB had run up and clobbered the running back as he was being held in check be two players, the refs, AT LEAST ONE OF THE would have thrown the SNOWFLAKE FLAG for unnecessary roughness. They have put the defensive player in a no win situation on a lot of plays.IMHO.

There is also another part of this story. The offensive lineman was attempting to pull the running back into the endzone which is illegal. It is legal to push the running back into the endzone but not pull them in. FYI.

I thought pushing the ball carrier was technically illegal too but they just don't enforce it since harder to prove. Pulling the ball carrier is definitely to be flagged.

Bingo. Forwardprogress is ruled as stopped at the moment the lineman began to pull. The call was correct. The ball is at the half yard line at that second. Maybe Huepel should have ran it at the end of regulation when he was facing 2nd and 2? Nope he threw 2 bombs and left his kicker on the edge of his range. All of this while having 3 timeouts!

Good point. The way the game has changed with forward progress, that rugby scrum they allow is going to cause injuries and penalties also. At one time it was against the rules to assist the runner, now you can pick him up and throw him over the goal line.

Did the trash UT fans throw golf balls and other objects on the field like they did during the Ole Miss game?
