I'll take a Woulard today

and let the Chad Mo/Deshaun Watson Drama play out next year.
This is a brilliant move by Dabo. Woulard looks like an absolute baller!
Talk about CYA. So, Dabo gets Woulard and the Chad Mo leaving and taking Watson with him becomes MUCH less of an issue.
If they cowtow to Watsons demands that no other QB's be recruited, then we would essentially be stuck with only 2 qb's on roster (Kelly and Schuessler). After Boyd goes pro and if Chad Mo walks for a HC gig taking Watson with him (which I think he will) we would be greatly depleted at that position.
Bringing in Woulard now is brilliant. He looks like the real deal. He can learn from Tajh and compete with Kelly. Get a year under his belt and make the transition away from ChadMo much less stressful.
This aint Dabo's first Rodeo.
And Thank You, Morgan for opening that spot for us. Good luck at Yale.

It makes even more sense because McNeal will never see a snap at starting QB, opening up yet another scholly.

McNeal may be done this year...That and Roberts leaving are a big reason we are offering Woulard. We need bodies at the QB position and it doesn't hurt that he is a real talent. Watson is the type of player that you cater to but you don't put your program at risk and slowly the depth chart has made that a reality and made offering a QB this year a necessity.

Watson Woulard and Kelly would give us the best qb talent in the land.

I don't think Watson & Woulward both being @ Clemson is realistic though. I wish we could have both on the roster, don't get me wrong. I hope that happens. Both are very similar QB's who bring the same skill sets to the table though.
I doubt Watson is happy at all about Clemson making a hard late push for Woulward. Then again, maybe I'm wrong about that.
I might be totally wrong, but that sends a message to me our staff knows something we don't about Watson possibly looking around to commit somewhere else. Who knows anymore, right?

us. Otherwise why are we all of a sudden so hot on the trail after Woulward (Who is a good QB, don't get me wrong).
Things @ the QB position seemed to be going great for us with Watson committed for '14 to come in behind Tajh (who leaves after next year) Kelly & Stoudt.
Now all of a sudden are things shaky (At best) with Watson and Woulward is our guy? Not to mention Sumner-Gardner is tweeting so enthusiastically about getting all these new SEC offers or whatever.
What does a true commitment to a program mean anymore? Anything at all? I'm just wondering...
I still have 100% faith in our staff, but not so much the players who "commit" anymore. I wish every prospect who commits could be like a Boulware, Kearse, Williams, Dye, etc... but that obviously isn't the case.

we need quality depth

We need another QB next year on the roster. Tajh has pretty much stayed healthy. But what happens when Swag's time (or Deshaun) comes and they start getting hurt like Shaw. The QB ranks start to thin.

That's true, and depth at any position is very important...

but big time prospects like Watson don't usually take it to well when they commit, then see that we're going hard after another QB that's almost exactly like him in what he brings to the table. That's my only point, and I'm not being negative at all. I applaud our staff for doing their best to build depth at all positions, that's what they should be doing, and ARE doing.
Hopefully we can keep Watson AND sign Woulward, that'd be a major haul. I just wonder what's going through Watson's head right now with us going after Woulward and Watson continuing to rack up major offers.

This is a very similar situation to how we ended up getting Tajh. About a month before signing day, Dabo got him on campus and the rest is history.
