Judge I appreciate your enthusiasm for CU basketball. I went to CU during the Barnes era, and his program gave our university life in a time when football was reeling in the midst of firing Danny. We watched Hatfield lose to Wake in a time in which that was unheard of, and Tommy West was just too young for the job…and struggled.

Basketball filled that gap. We camped out for tickets as students in the freezing cold, to see Barnes’ #2 Tigers play #1 Wake Forest and Tim Duncan. It was fantastic and yes the support seemed great in comparison to todays world. But it’s because it was inspired basketball. Purnell never won an NCAA game. But it was inspired basketball. Full court press, athletic, tempo. Losing to Morehead St., at home, in RD 1 of the NIT … uninspiring.

I will support Brad. Always have. But the endless excuses have got to go. NOBODY gets this much of a 7-figure trial basis. Excuses are like b-holes…everybody’s got one. Support comes when apathy disappears. 3 NCAA’s in 13 years is a 23% success rate. That’s even a mid-level batting average.

It’s like finally opening a 13 year old bottle of Cabernet, just to have it taste like Boone’s Farm.
