I'll NEVER forget Herbstreit's face when Spiller

Aug 22, 2016, 9:04 PM

Broke the ankles of that NFL drafted senior Georgia Tech Corner on game day in the valley. Sitting near front row behind the Clemson bench sub the 30 yardline, Herby turns his head back and says, "Holy Sh$$ did that just happen". I could hear every word like I was right beside him. It's so weird how fast this University has put forth a new gear to success, but sometimes it's good to look back at the guys brought us to where we are now. This year I hope we write a new Chapter in the National record books! 15-0 has never been acclaimed. Let's back our tigers this year and fill out every seat full of orange! Not only home games, but road games! I'll see you in Auburn!

I try to remember and appreciate those little incremental steps that got us where we are.

- "Almost" vs FSU in 99
- Curb stomping Tennessee
- Signing Davis
- Davis with all those carries in The Drive vs A&M
- road win at Miami
- signing Spiller
- GT gameday
- ACCCG in Tampa where CJ had a quarter mile of apy by himself
Etc

Didn't know it at the time, but they were all little building blocks

I agree. James Davis gets little credit these days but his signing was the beginning. The A&M game Drive is one of my favorite memories. He was a big reason for Spiller coming here and staying here.

To this day the greatest play I've ever seen in person. I

went from yelling at Proctor for throwing a pass behind the chains on third down to picking my jaw off the floor in about 4 seconds. "No, no, NO! Yes, yes, YES!! YESSSS!!!"

Great to see videos of that game. I happened to nearly die that evening after post-op internal bleeding and spent that night in CICU at Providence Hospital. Emergency surgery saved my life and upon awakening the next day other than asking about my wife and her state of mind the next question was quite simple. "Did Clemson win?" To this day I take virtually nothing for granted so enjoy our continued success!

Go Tigers!
