Beside the obvious of scoring more points than them, the bigger question may be "the approach" of executing this Prime Directive (score more points than them).
It is:
Take it to the hoop !
Now the naysayers may naysay, "but Cuse plays a really tough zone and you can't get inside ...."
Poppycock
You drive to the hoop, and chances are you will be fouled and will shoot TWO Foul Shots, unimpeded
Or, you make the shot, but were molested (fouled) doing so thusly having the opportunity to shoot a BONUS Foul Shot, for a total of THREE points ! (if you make the foul shot)
OR
At the last second on your journey to the basket, you kick it out to a "Open Man", for by design, the zone will "collapse" on you therefore leaving one of your Comrades with an "open look" aka good sight of the basket, reasonable distance away, no defender within his personal space that may hinder the "shot"
Do this repeatedly whilst keeping your foe from putting ball in the basket, you score more points than them !

And when we do pass, make them crisp.
Make that zone move!
Our defense should help our offense, in that we will make Syracuse work hard on both ends of the floor. We can't give them easy baskets in the half court or in transition.
Syracuse is a good team. They are currently 8th in the conference, while we are 7th. Almost identical records, with the only difference being that we've played a few more games than they have.
Hopefully Boeheim and his team are full from their Grand Slam breakfasts that morning, and are sluggish against us.

"They say" playing back to back (day in-between) is not optimal. Then again, one can claim that they will be in playing groove. I have no idea.

the hoop, if we have to kick it out to the open comrade, we need to have a large funnel installed on top of the hoop to guide that outside brick home. Or, just let Tyson shoot it.

Is "following your shot" considered "archaic" nowadays ?

Back in the day when I played (loved attempting to play basketball) football, not so much, its no fun being the designated tackling dummy
We were always told to follow the shot ! It seemed to be good advice ... many times I got another opportunity to miss ...
They don't seem to do that much nowadays ... has the philosophy changed ? Shoot and scoot back to defense ?
