Surely someone here owns a car lot and is in need of a little advertising campaign.

I have a 2005 Nissan Titan with no battery and no back window just taking up space in my driveway.

Yeah, hoping some of them folks buying up all those box seats and getting buildings named after them will pony up enough of those big bucks to buy us a few more nattys before we get converted to an NFL triple A farm team…..
And oh by the way Ralph Sharpton, you’d be a high roller down in Cootlumbia! ??

This kind of post always reminds me of a conversation that I had with exTiger coach Bill Foster. When Bill joined Clemson in the early to mid 70’s the hot commodity in basketball was a big kid named Moses Malone from Petersburg va. Every coach in America wanted Malone, especially the coach at Maryland. It was reported in a local newspaper that Malone was seen driving around town in a “different” car. I asked Bill about this and he said “Dan, you don’t get a player like MosesMalone with a used Chevrolet! He eventually committed to Maryland and drove to school in a new red Chrysler! He joined the NBA a few days later. Never became a Terp.

Almost the same exact thing happened with a 99% commit to Clemson back the 70's, he drove an old worn out pick up truck to school each day. His Clemson recruiter stopped by his High School the week before National Signing Day, and parked where he always parked that old pick up truck was a New Trans Am. Some one told me he switched to UGA and ended up playing there. I can't remember his name, but I think he wore #34 while playing for the Dawgs!!

+1 for your knowledge. Finish the Chuck Reedy recruiting story though. Chuck said he later went by to see this recruit at his family’s old run down house, and low-and-behold there was a brand new brick home that had just been built! I’ve heard different versions of this. One was UGA boosters bought both. The other was a team from the upstate’s boosters got him the Trans Am and UGA trumped that with a house. We’ll probably never know for sure what the truth is. Jimbo says this NIL has not changed anything other than bringing it all into public view? To an extent he probably has a point.

Since Clemson does not have as many millionaires or billionaires as some schools we need to use the same concept as IPTAY where a bunch of fans like yourself agree to poll your money. For example I bet you could easily afford to give $100 per month. So a thousand fans each giving a hundred a month would be $1.2M per year. This would be a good start

How many IPTAY members are there? I’m thinking you get your 1,000 to do $100 per month, but don’t exclude the poor folk like me — I Pay Twenty-Five Per Month. Get 10,000 tigers to do $25 per month and you’ve got $3 million to add to it. I could do more but that’s an amount most could do without the wife even knowing. Haha. You could buy a car for the top 2-3 deep every year. NIL for a broad swath of the top players is less likely to destroy culture as opposed to only a few making a lot.
I hate this NIL landscape, but until it’s regulated, if it ever is, I think when in Rome...do as the Romans.

Maybe a boat would be more feasible, given the lake and all. I hear Dabo advertising the Harley dealership, but not sure we want to start that.
