driving right up on the curb near the stadium in an old Ford pickup one gameday morning. It was beat all to pieces, like most farm trucks, paint faded, maybe some hay string in the back. He shut it down, half on the grass, half on the sidewalk, hopped out, left the windows down, and walked toward the stadium. It seems like something was written in dust on the hood, but don't hold me to that, and if he had a parking pass, I didn't see it. And this was in the mid-late 90's, so he wasn't the coach.
This got me thinking. So this summer I bought an older Ford pickup, a 1981 National Champs license plate, and a few old Clemson stickers. This will be my new game day truck. I also may not renew my annual parking pass as I'm pretty sure I can park anywhere I want now.
If anyone wants my old parking passes, just let me know.

I always parked at the LEE hall Faculty lot my entire time at Clemson. I never got a single parking ticket, not a 1. I never registered my vehicle once either.(true story)
Granted I am one of the luckiest people I know, but the logic holds firm here, they do not mess with the architecture faculty because they secretly run the entire University. It is not a coincidence that James Barker was made President for no good reason. He was my student advisor in the 90's and even showed me their secret handshake.

When I lived in Clemson house as a student, the university used to occasionally hold functions in the penthouse. The penthouse required a key in the elevator to get up there. Sometimes they would forget to lock the elevator back after they were finished and that's when us students would get to enjoy the penthouse for a while. Anyhow, Max Lennon was hosting some VIPs one evening and apparently asked Danny to drop by to say a few words. Danny pulled his truck up on the sidewalk as I was walking back up the hill from campus and we walked in together. I noticed him spit his chewing tobacco out in the bushes before we walked in the building together. We got in the elevator and he continued to ride up after I got off on my floor. I can't help but to think Danny didn't mesh well with Max and his high rollers at events like this and Max had it in for Danny for a long time.
