GT Trip Question

Nov 6, 2014, 9:00 AM

I am thinking about going to GT for the game. I would like to know what are some good places to tailgate at before the game? Also what is the best deal on tickets, through Clemson? StubHub? at the game? Also any other info you have would be nice. Thanks! Go Tigers!!

I checked Stubhub last week....

and upperdeck endzone seats were in the $70 range. All sideline seats were $85.00 and up.

Pretty steep for a school that routinely has trouble selling-out its home games.

their gate and season at home this year--just like in 2011 when they sold out BD with 55,000 fans. Usually 25-30,000? I bet it is another sell-out. Here is the wiki article on that:

October 29, 2011: Georgia Tech 31, #5 Clemson 17
Before a sellout crowd of 55,646, Georgia Tech rebounded from two consecutive losses to upset #5 Clemson. The Tigers, who were undefeated before the game, turned the ball over 4 times in the game and allowed Georgia Tech to rush for 383 yards. Tevin Washington led the Yellow Jackets by rushing for 176 yards on 27 carries and a touchdown, which was the most rushing yards ever by a Georgia Tech quarterback. The Yellow Jackets raced to a 24-3 halftime lead and held off Clemson which was 8-0 for the first time since 2000, when Georgia Tech defeated the then #4 Clemson Tigers. It was Tech's first win against a Top 5 team since defeating #4 Virginia Tech in 2009.[29]

We need to make sure we understand what is going to happen in Atlanta when we walk into the stadium. At 8-0 in 2011 we got ambushed. You learn from your mistakes and prep for the atmosphere and all the other. Some may say otherwise but this is a BIG away game for the Tigers. HUGE!

GO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive had friends tell me to check around the stadium right

before the game for really cheap/ free(doubt that would be for a clemson fan) tickets. But me personally I like to sit in the stadiums about an hour before kick and not really comfortable putting my ticket on the line like that but that's just me I know a lot that do especially for games like ga tech wake and smaller acc teams. Ive got one friend that did it at fsu this year and he was still sitting at the tailgate when I came out and yes I told him he was an idiot for expecting that to work.

gt cops are tough on scalpers near stadium.

It is a fRont to try to convince visitors that gt isn't located in crime ridden Atlanta.

guarantee you will get in under face value. I've scalped tickets for Ga Tech every time I've been down there and I've always gotten into the lower deck for face value or less. You just have to be an aggressive negotiator.

I replied yesterday to a post about seating sections, and asked about tailgating. I am coming with friends and family, 8 total and rented a townhouse/condo just across the interstate. The guy I got my tickets from lives in ATL, and said to check out some parking garage around the varsity. We are coming on Thurs to take in a couple of attractions with my 2 young daughters and to visit Red Hare Brewery in Marietta, I am one of the owners. Depending on how far our condo is we may tailgate there, but will be checking on the Varsity parking garage. If I have your cell, I will tell you/call you if I find something Thurs or Friday. I'd much rather help a Clemson brother/sister out and have someone of like mind to hang with. My email is Jonathana@omnisc.net. Class of '95
