If you think that hit in the Bama game was targeting...

In the actual spirit of the rule, you should stop watching football and move on to something like curling that will keep you from clutching your pearls over big hits.

Sure looked like...

helmet to helmet to me. Pretty clear, actually. Regardless of what you think about the rule, that's targeting. If you don't understand that, maybe you've been huffing too many of those paintballs.

No, it wasn't. He didn't lead with the crown, leave his feet, or try to make a vicious hit on a defenseless player. Like I said, if you can't accept that players helmets hit each other pretty regularly, you shouldn't watch football.

I think you have missed the point.
It has nothing to do with the big hits as most everyone wishes the rule didnt exist. Its more of the way ridiculous plays are called targeting (boulwares chest shove on BC) and then blatent helmet to helmet calls not being called. Just do away with the rule.

The out rage is the way targeting is called. If the tackle by the Alabama player was not targeting then there shouldn't even be a rule.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

It was obvious targeting and completely unnecessary.

Oct 22, 2016, 4:58 PM

He couldve laid the guy out shoulder to chest just as easily.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

yes, lets start penalizing pad level. Great call.***

yeah like you can think about that when you are flying

Oct 22, 2016, 5:02 PM [ in reply to It was obvious targeting and completely unnecessary. ]

Down the field on a kickoff getting thru traffic and the ball carrier trying to cut up in the hole. Stupid. Just a play its straight up head on collision there is not thinking of changing your body on something that quick. Y'all act like its matrix out there

4-5 years ago the announcers and everyone here

Oct 22, 2016, 5:04 PM

Cekebrates that as a good, hard hit on a KO return

Now everyone spends an hour looking for the nearest fainting couch

Nobody buys that justification any more.

They can improve player safety without ending football as we know it.
