If you think about our past few ADs

If they had not gotten lucky with Dabo and Noonan we would have almost struck out completely. I will give D-Rad credit for laying a good foundation in softball. Not trying to criticize these fellows just trying to deal in the truth. I hope Neff knows his stuff when he does have to make a hire.

Graham Neff is younger and will hopefully bring a different perspective.

The problem is these guys just use a service that recommends the best “fit”, that how we wound up with Brownell instead of doing a real search based off connections, knowledge or just an eye for talent. Hopefully Neff will bring a new approach and has an eye for talent.

We certainly need a new approach. Looks like Wakes AD hit a home run with their new BB coach. Wake did not give 12 years to their former great player and NBA star Manning when they saw he was not competitive

Anyone that followed that model in hiring a coach should not have that job. The problem at that time and maybe now was no one in the adm gave a #### about BB. The fans carried much more about it than they did. None of the adm has been one of us since they ran off Bill McClellan

Coaching decisions, except football maybe, are part of what an AD does but not the most important. A major college athletic department is huge and the responsibility of managing that kind of budget is massive.

Agree. You can not be any better than the folks you hire. It’s a must to get the right people.

Most importantly, props to Terry Don for seeing the potential in Dabo and sticking with him through those early up and down seasons! Big time call by AD!
As for Noonan, there was no luck involved. Noonan had demonstrated his brilliant acumen for the game at Brown and New Hampshire. I believe Rad brought him onboard. Another great hire!
No doubt. Two coaching studs.

Did not realize D-Rad brought in Noonan. I have to give him credit for that and softball. Phillips decision has meant everything to Clemson. Without Dabo success on the football Clemson would be a ghost town and the power brokers that hold onto Brad would not even have a job.

Wow. Just think, without Phillips there probably would not have been any of those nattys. Hoping Neff is more than just a facilities man and is a people person and can identify the right person for the job. Neff we fans are counting on you to represent us.

DRad didn't do squat except stay out of Dabo's way. Mcwhorter already needs seats. He cheap out on that and should have rebuilt littlejohn. If he'd read the tea leaves, he'd have built a smaller, nicer, more intimate and intimidating arena.
As for softball, all he had to do is poll the alumni that had daughters who wanted softball at Clemson. Look around the southeast and ACC to see it was wildly popular. As for Rittman, I believe he reached out to DRad because Rittman specialty is getting programs, softball up and running. I don't expect him to stay long.
What else, he hired a women's coach on the cheap who'd failed at Florida.. A place that should be easy to recruit.
I think he stuck with Brad because he didn't want to admit he cheaped out on that hire too as well as not doing homework. We should have at minimum gone with a proven p5 recruiter. Failed.
He almost ran off track and field. One of Clemson more successful programs.
Was very late doing anything with tennis or volleyball. Never gave volleyball any respect. Was late on giving tennis 21st century video and streaming.
He was a complete failure that hadn't done squat for ga tech. The bot and alumni told him hands off with Dabo and whatever Dabo wanted. Dabo did the ops center.
I pray Neff is his own man.

Forgot to add his worst disaster. Monte and baseball and how Leggett went down, there's two sides but DRad should and could have handled it better. Had his listened to Dabo, he'd have promoted Corbin or one of them to head coach. Instead he destroyed that coach tree.

I'm with you on the first half of this post, but Corbin and O'Sullivan were long gone and in better situations way before the change was made.
There was nobody on staff when the switch was made that should have been promoted to head coach.
It had to be an outside hire.
Anything beyond that is up for debate.

When the full picture of our debt comes to light - that will be DRAD greatest misstep.
