I bet that is a cool job. When I got to 3ID in 2004, I was assigned to the newly formed 4th brigade. We didn't have any vehicles because the whole brigade was brand new. Our company was turned into an Air Mobile company and did extensive training with Blackhawks out of Hunter Army Airfield. Riding in to assault objectives by Blackhawk was one of the most fun things I ever did in the Army.

Not much laid back about Jackson in those days, and it was 1970, not 1971 as I previously stated. Polk was the closest climate we had in the US to RSV. Then to Ft Lewis and Bien Hoa, home through Oakland. After a stint at Ft Riley, KS, back to Clemson!
