I watched the NCS game again last night.

Oct 3, 2022, 4:41 PM

The progress DJ has made just this season is unmatched in my memory. He completed passes last night that he couldn't during this past Spring, those he failed to do last season. No need to comment on his improvement in the running game.

Imo, we left a lot of points on the field but part of that was shared with receivers and other parts of our offense. I'm not a professional coach but even coaching 10-18 yr old I can see that his head in on square and can't deny the change in his confidence and composure after the ball is snapped. I've seen boys play after that little light flashed on inside their heads and this kid's lite is bright right now.

I believe his progress between now and the remainder of the regular season is is going to be no less than astounding. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if some view it as phenomenal.

We're going to have a heck of a good season this year. I spoke out when DJ was struggling and have no reluctance to speak in support of him. If I didn't believe it, I wouldn't say it. The boy is going to be something special in the college ranks.

Yes, and he has stepped up as a leader and it's great to see he's having fun. It's fun to watch his eyes light up during the post-game interviews. I am happy for him.

Sometimes the road to the truth is so elusive it's confusing and reality becomes illusion.

…interview today that the naked bootleg that Dabo drew up, that while he trusted Dabo, he was expecting that there was going to be a Pack player out there waiting for him.

Yes, there was a Pack defender that was close to him, almost close enough to touch him, but the momentum of that Pack player biting on the fake was just enough so that DJ was able to outrun the defender.

Then, he said that Dabo’s play calls work probably 80% off the time.

I was shocked when I saw DJ coming right at me from the West End Zone.

I agree completely. It was a very strange feeling last year when I expected poor performance from the offense instead of what I had gotten used to watching from our Tigers. That feeling was still there after the first game of the season, and each week I have grown more and more confident in our Offense to the point that now I am comfortable feeling like they will perform well. It was like going to the top of a mountain, to a swamp, and back to the Mountain in a rapid amount of time.

The way they keep improving makes me very excited for this season. If we keep making the leaps we have been making each week, I think the sky is the limit for this team.

A+ job by all.

If you give them an 'A+,' now they might quit improving.

I could go B- or maybe even a C+ but A+?

Let us all remember that DJ was hurt all last year. Wore a knee brace that very much affected his running. Dabo said he was not surrounded by the best protection and support. The Kid never deserved all the negative statements that were being said about him. I am glad to see the good Clemson Fans admitting that they were wrong.

We as a team last year had a lot of growing up to do and they did just like our coach said they would. Never doubt Dabo.

until now. Last year he couldn't get one foot in front of the other. My issue were his inability to hit a laterally moving target, read a TE or decide which option to take on an RPO call. He also starred down his primary and appeared to have no clue where the remainder of his receivers were.

This year he started slow and committed some of the mistakes from last season. It appears to me they took any options out of his hands. I think the coaches are calling a more simple play with perhaps a checkdown option if the field looks bad.

Each game he has gotten better at each of those categories except the option stuff. I'm guessing here but I believe he will be able to run an option by season's end. That is why my confidence level with this team is sky limited.
