If you could go back in time.....

And change one decision about the Clemson football program. Change one play in a game, change one recruit's decision, change one coaching hire, what would it be?
To be honest, I can't even to begin to think of anything....
Emmett Smith to Clemson (Emory Smith came here b/c Emmett was so close to coming to Clemson)?
Have the UGA DB drop that pick-six this year vs UGA and who knows how the game would have ended?
But I honestly don't think I would change anything during the Dabo tenure... even the loss to WV in the Orange bowl b/c it brought BV here except maybe the offensive snap interference penalty we got when Cat Man kicked the field goal to tie vs Auburn in 2010. Would love to have beaten Cam Newton in that game.
I'm sure there are lots of recruits over the years we wish we might have landed.

I agree. Gurley would have been an absolute monster for us during his time. Our O-line was better back then too so it would have been a good match. Imagine Deshaun and Gurly in the same backfield with Mike, Renfrow and others at receiver.

That was a perfect play for them... never seen an onside kick like that and honestly don't know why we don't see more of it.
Kickers come out to practice early to do the first few periods of practice and then stand around till the last few periods of practice. They should be practicing this everyday.

Hindsight, Clemson would not have hired Tommy West. Coach West is a fine, upstanding guy, but even he admitted, well after his firing, that the Clemson job was just "too big for me at the time".
We were trying to duplicate catching lightning in a bottle, with West's hiring being an attempt on our part to produce a Danny Ford clone. The hoped for cloned success just never materialized.
With the benefit of about 10 more years coaching college football, Tommy West would have been able to have much more success here. He just, by his own admission, didn't know the "Ins and Outs" of properly dealing with all the things that come with being the Clemson Head Coach at the time.

Nolan Turner’s dropped Pick 6 in the 3rd quarter vs LSU. If we get the lead back maybe TE doesn’t abandon the run with Etienne and it turns into an epic 4th quarter.

If I could go back in time, I’d tell myself not to drink so much before/during/after the Utah State game in 2004. I ended up being set up with a girl from the Clemson dance team that night. We had pregamed pretty hard and when I found out my buddy’s girlfriend was setting me up with a girl from the dance team, I got really nervous and started drinking even more heavily.
Things started out well. I was funny and outgoing. The problems started when we went to a restaurant and I decided to switch from beer to liquor because my stomach was so full of beer. I started talking more and more because of my nervousness and intoxication. I can remember telling her stories of my youth like the time I made a paper machete cast of my ##### for a school project when I was in the sixth grade. I thought I was on a roll since she was laughing so hard. Looking back, I think she was laughing at me instead of with me.
My last memory of that night was throwing up at my seat in the restaurant. I did see the girl a few weeks later and asked for another chance. Apparently, her ankles got splashed with my vomit that night and she said she could not get past that. I consider it one of the 14 biggest missed opportunities of my life.

If we are going with drunken fumbles on the goal line with the ladies, I would have to change the post to if I could go back in time to change more than one thing.
Your story made me laugh... been there, done that.
Nothing is better than in the middle of mixing it up, she asks you what her name is.... then beating yourself up as she is getting dressed to leave b/c you guessed wrong. Wished we had cell phones when I went to Clemson so when that happened, you could just text your reliable back-ups. Next women up !! Spot the ball !! Hahaha.... I miss my Clemson days !!!
