Deshaun Watson… the guy was consistently clutch. It seemed when we needed a score DW answered.
You said 1 but dang there are a lot I would love to have back.

Yep. IMO, DW4 is the best player we’ve had in my lifetime. Seems the more time passes that even our own fans forget the ice water he had in his veins.

There you go Skip. Another choice could be Stan Rome, a big bodied WR for football and a nice guard for basketball. Drafted by both NFL, KC Chiefs and NBA, Cleveland Cavaliers. Two sports for one player.

With Watson at the controls, and the defense we will field this year, we would be ranked #1 or #2 by year's end, and would lay waste to the other teams in the Playoffs to win our 4th Natty.

Some of these picks are awful. The only thing this team needs to make us a playoff team is a stud qb. It has to be Deshaun Watson

Suffice it to say that they were both excellent.

Terrible false analogy. One, football is even more passer friendly now than it was in 2015-2016. Look at country-wide passing stats. Second, Deshaun did it with far, far less talent surrounding him. He was a one man team against Alabama both times.

DW had some of the best receiver talent Clemson has ever had. And the Defenses were consistently ranked at the top of the sport.

Tie between Hunter Renfrow and Hopkins. My reasoning is we have a top 5 defense. There isn’t an absolute need on that side of the ball. We are set at RB. No true elite RB but 3 very solid backs. Mafah has the potential to be Elite. We shall see.
No one OL can fix out issue there and with everyone healthy I think we should see some improvement. DW4 would be my second answer but wonder if even he could make passes consistently with the WR we have. No MW, HR, or Legget.
With a fully healthy WR core I would have picked DW4 but with the injuries I just feel the biggest need is a go to WR right now. And I think Klubnik is going to be a great QB. I have little doubt.

thats all we really need to compete. UGA beat us by 7 points last year which was gifted to them by our poor QB play. All we had to do ALL year was just be competitive at the QB position and we would have probably been undefeated. That was like UGA's best team in 30 years and the best team in the nation and they barely squeaked it out against the worst Clemson offense in 50 years. WE gotta get traction at QB this year or we'll have another wasted year for a good defense.

These are some terrible lists. Yeah, Christian Wilkins was incredible as a leader and player and would guarantee our having the top defensive line in football. But last year, we had a top 5 defensive line already. Similarly, CJ Spiller is the single most exciting player I've ever seen and Etienne was obviously a fantastic running back, but how are either of them going to help our offense that much when we have several great running backs?
Meanwhile, we had the second-worst QB in the country statistically, in a game designed around the QB. Not having 5 QBs on your list shows you're delusional and do not know anything about football.
1. Deshaun Watson (he's the one player I believe would instantly lock us in for an ACC title and a likely playoff berth). 2. Trevor Lawrence 3. Tajh Boyd 4. Charlie Whitehurst 5. Woody Dantzler
Not Homer Jordan or Steve Fuller. They were products of their time. Dual threats are good but you need someone who can also accurately attack corners deep.

Makes it easy. QB. Personally I would choose Deshaun Watson but you also couldn’t go wrong choosing Trevor. We also could use a WR but this year’s team you’re not sure if we could get the ball to them with our current QB situation. So QB all the way.

Watson or TL, we were literally an avg-above avg QB away last year....it'll be the same this year if there's no improvement. Already have a championship caliber defense and a stable of RB's.

Those of you who have been on the board for a long time know that the only correct answer is Willy Korn

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. He's the chosen one and will be back this summer.

DW4 by a mile, Trevor second.
If we take out QBs as an option for THIS team, Sammy, maybe Tee, or Mike Williams. We really need a dynamic WR and deep threat. A great WR can elevate average (or worse) QB play.

DW4 without a doubt. A mobile qb can help hide a weak offensive line.

Ppl here really acting like DW4 > TL16

IMO it's more of a push than one over the other.
DW4 is a little more elusive compared to TL16 and I can understand the thought that we need someone close to Randell Cunningham vs Peyton Manning with the oline as questionable as it is.
I'd personally take either -- TL never lost a regular season game ; DW4 has the go time crunch factor.
I don't get how some folks think TL16 is a step down from DW4 or claim it's "crazy" to choose someone other than DW4.
That said, I'd take Old Man Renfrow as a non-QB pick.

No brainer. And I would also take either. The difference ...
Bama was better than Clemson at 15-16 starting positions and 19-22 2nd stringers in 2016 championship game. DW4 willed the team to win even with Bama's Reuben Foster and Defense killing him most of the game. Bama's 1st team all-american DT said after game DW4 was the only qb who did not quit vs. Bama D in his career.
CW42 led the best Tiger team of all time (and a better team than Bama who was restocking) to a blowout win of Bama in 2018 with great play from TL16, Ross and Tee. But CW42 led the team.

He blocked, ran hard, was tough, was unbelievably fast, and was a great receiver.
Feels like we need some of that toughness right now on the offensive side.
