My mega conference would crush this conference! And it includes Southern Cal and Oregon, which would be amazing for our brand and recruiting!

If you are including the REAL USC, maybe also consider

Interesting

What if it could be a "football only" conference and leave the legacy conferences in place?

Take top 8 from ACC/ND and #1 and #4 from AAC as Division #1
Take top 8 from B1G and #2 and #3 from AAC as Division #2
Rest of AAU, ACC/BD and B1G break out into Divisions #3 and #4

Division #1 and #2 champs get auto bids to CFP, anyone else eligible for at large

Next year, reconstitute the divisions based on this year's performance. Grants of rights and conference payouts could stay in place based on the legacy conferences.

You could put together another group like this, also receiving two automatic bids, and give the SEC two automatic bids. Everybody else would be eligible for the 6 at large spots.

Just spitballing. I like your idea, but don't like the part where we kick conference members to the curb, and know that there are obstacles.
