If we're voting states off the island...

Actually, if we could get rid of California, Washington, and Oregon it would go a long way in making America better. Much, if not most, of the far left insanity is coming out of those states. And of course New York. Not so much New York the state, but Manhattan and New York City in general.

Quozzel thinks California is a victim of their success and he calls himself a militant libertarian. LOL First, California is a victim of one party rule and insane far left ideology. Second, no one even remotely libertarian would think something as dumb as California being “a victim of their own success”. He might want to look up the word libertarian, because it’s not what he thinks it is. I love his posts about football, but politics is definitely not in his wheelhouse.

I could not care less that they are a donor state. They have $1 billion deficits in their budget and their pension program.

Last year the population shran. The only reason it hadn’t gone down net over the last 20 years is because of all the international and illegal immigration. If you look strictly at American citizens, California has been losing people for 20 years.

California has lost over 20,000 businesses in the last 20 years and the last two or three have shown even the biggest names in tech leaving California.

They are crushing their economy with insane amounts of regulations and environmental laws. They are going to be on the decline in every way over the next 10 to 20 years.

South Carolina, and red states in general, are rapidly on the rise. Now that South Carolina has BMW, Bosch, Mercedes, Volvo, and other industries moving here our economy is on the upsurge. Red states in the south are growing like gangbusters. We don’t need that California money.

I remember people in the lowcountry panicking a year or two after Hugo wiped out Charleston and the federal government announced that the shipyard and part of the Navy base and most of the weapons station were going to be shut down. People were literally freaking out thinking the economy was going to be crushed. I told people that Hugo and these closings will be the best thing that ever happened to Charleston and the lowcountry. I said then it would force Joe Riley to stop sucking off the government ### and actually recruit real businesses to come to the Charleston area.

Twenty years later not only was I right but I wish this genie could be put back into the bottle because Charleston has grown way too much too fast, as has the entire coast and especially the lowcountry. And frankly it doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down anytime soon. Mount Pleasant is practically unrecognizable from the early to mid 90s. The growth currently going on throughout the lowcountry is staggering. And now that real estate prices have skyrocketed we’re seeing Charleston and Mount Pleasant grow vertically.
