If we have a school color that is so distasteful to our fans

then we need to change it. I say change purple to navy blue, or better yet, the blue of the state flag. That would look awesome with Orange.
I don't mind the purple at all when done right. We have worn purple jerseys before with white pants and it looked great. Purple pants with white jerseys was ok. The problem now is that the purple color we are ordering, seems different from the purple we used to wear, or it is inconsistent. Sometimes it looks down right lavendar and awful, yet sometimes it looks good.
I think purple looks great on LSU, Washington Huskies, Kansas State, and Clemson. But sometimes Clemson does funky things with the shade of purple that is used.

I think the orange and purple look awesome together. I think Clemson is the only team in college football who does orange right (ahem, Tennessee and Texas).

of Texas. To quote a friend, "Texas orange looks like something my dog threw up." The Tennessee orange is awful and not worthy of comment.
I agree that when the purple is done in the right shade, our orange and purple can't be beat. I have even read people on UNC and other ACC boards saying that while watching our baseball team in Omaha. The problem as stated is we never know what kind of purple we're going to get and the television and lighting does odd things to it at times. To avoid all of that, I wouldn't mind navey blue or SC state flag blue.
The country wouldn't even remember we changed colors after about 18 months.

Orange and Blue....Clemson = Orange and Purple, only one in the nation....Orange and Blue = join the conformity club.....i wish like hell we'd take ownership of the uniqueness of our colors, embrace it, and shove it down everyone's throats...the last time i checked, Clemson folks don't do conformity well and we sure as hell don't give half a #### about what anyone thinks about us, our colors, our DV, our Rock, our Hill, our anything....

is going to look good. They say it is Northwest Purple, but we see many different shades used. They need to get the best look and be consistent with it. There has been some great looking purple used on our uniforms.

has them in the nicest college baseball unis in the nation, hands down...it's funny how some Clemson folks view this these days...my Uncle, Clemson Class of '50, has been pissed off for years that we didn't wear much Purple because he would tell anyone who listened that his Tigers "true colors were Purple and Orange" and anyone who didn't like it could "kiss his ###"...LOL...he was especially irritated in the '70's with the Orange and White and the disgusting conformist Orange and Blue years....just tossing that out there for the "traditionalists"...and his degree is in a purple vinyl cover also....

I agree. I grew up in Gvl so purple means Furman to me but when they use the dark purple with the orange, I like it.

sharp. The purple on the rallycats and female band members, horrible. The purple in the athletic department employees wear usually looks good. The purple us fans have to choose from in the stores, usually looks terrible.

By dark, I mean almost black. For me, the lighter the hue, the more gaudy the orange and purple combo become. But I still don't mind the purple as is. I'll rock whatever color Clemson chooses.

In the cubicle diagonal from mine at work, we have an outspoken gay guy (pretty cool, usually) who insists during football season that the Tigers would look much better in all purple; by that he really means helmets, jerseys, pants, kneesocks, and shoes with purple laces!

Orange and white have worked well the last couple of seasons. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. However, if we must have purple, just let it be dark purple.
