If we had a gay counselor on our team, we would be

Aug 28, 2015, 10:46 PM

considered progressive, and everyone would love us. No one would say that we are pushing gayness on anyone, and the libtards would just promote everything about Clemson.

If Clemson had 83% of players on the team that were gay, then I would be just fine having a gay counselor on the team, and honestly, if 83% of the players on the team were gay, then the libtards would DEMAND that they have a counselor. Amirite?

The truth is, 83% of Americans identify themselves as Christians, so it makes sense to have the FREEDOM to go to a person that has a spiritual belief as you do when we have problems.

I forget the atheist player that was asked, maybe Aaron Kelly, if he ever felt pressured to join in religious activities, and he answered with a resounding negative. That was AFTER he left Clemson.

Folks wonder why people are getting shot in public for no reason, well that is what happens when you take God out of everything.

So does Joel Osteen, but the difference is that real Christians do not identify with them seeing as what they teach isn't biblically supported. They twist the meaning of scripture to support their heresy, but in reality it couldn't be further from truth. Also, just because you put God's name on something doesn't mean he cosigns with you.

Aug 29, 2015, 9:29 AM

As a Christian I have no duty to allow myself to be cheated, but I have
the duty to be a fighter for truth and justice… And if there is
anything which could demonstrate that we are acting rightly, it is
the distress that daily grows. For as a Christian I have also a duty
to my own people. And when I look on my people I see them work and
work and toil and labor, and at the end of the week they have only
for their wages wretchedness and misery. When I go out in the morning
and see these men standing in their queues and look into their
pinched faces, then I believe I would be no Christian, but a very
devil, if I felt no pity for them, if I did not, as did our Lord two
thousand years ago, turn against those by whom today this poor people
are plundered and exposed.”

Aug 29, 2015, 9:35 AM

He said at a fairly young age. LMBO As I said above, he was a devout christian but left it behind.

Hitler made it clear that he “hated Christianity” and was going to eliminate it when the war ended (see Kershaw, 2000). One reason Hitler “hated Christianity” was because he believed that “it had crippled everything noble about humanity” (quoted in Kershaw, 2000, p. 936).

In Hitler’s words “the heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity” (Hitler, 1953, p. 6). The Jesuits were “swine,” and all of Christianity was “Jewish Christianity” which was comparable with “Jewish Bolshevism.” Hitler concluded that both were evil and both had to be destroyed (Kershaw, 2000, pp. 330, 488). His reasoning was based on his belief that Christianity was an “illegitimate” Jewish child and, as a Jewish child, was swine like its parent that must be eradicated. Hitler considered Christianity the “invention of the Jew Saul” (Azar, 1990, p. 154)

Eric Metaxas wrote a fabulous biography of Dietrich Bonhoeffer

Aug 29, 2015, 12:46 PM [ in reply to Sorry but 32 years old is not a fairly young age. ]

and in it there is a tremendous amount of information as to how the Nazis, under Hitler's regime, treated the "Christian" religion. As in many other times though the centuries, the Church under Hitler was simply co-opted to become a mouthpiece of a secular political movement. It was one power base seeking to become more influential by co-opting another "power base".

But Christ was fairly direct with his words when speaking about his "power" not being one that would be used on Earth. He went to the Cross with that promise....

Yet the Nazis tried to take over the world.

When you try to suggest that Hitler was even remotely a true "Christian", you strain the very limits of your sanity as well as your credibility.

What? You thought that you do not have an original rebuke, so you post a gif instead that says nothing?

What part is not true?

Everyone has a right to be who they want to be, but when you give a courageous award to someone for being transgender over 19 year old Lauren Hill because it is the in thing in Hollywood right now, then society as a whole has issues.

You can support that backwards thinking all you want, but some around here have more common sense.

You can post all the reaction gifs you want, actually you were not even that original, but that does not change anything.

I am not saying gay is a bad thing, it is who you are then so be it. But it is not a big deal, there are a lot of gay people out there. Nobody cares, so it sure should not get celebrated and rewarded over Laurin Hill.

Aug 29, 2015, 2:54 AM [ in reply to Re: That's what I thought also!*** ]

And I do kinda think the award was a sham... Nothing to do with Jenner being transgendered though, more the fact that Lauren Hill deserved it more, and I'm tired of hearing about the whole dumb Kardashian family constantly, including Jenner. but I also still don't see what that has to do with someone being gay. Gay does not equal transgendered. A gay man may like the same gender but that in no way means he doesn't want to be a man.

And I don't see how some rich reality show "star" in any way indicates anything about society one way or the other, besides the fact that people will watch whatever crap you put on TV. All it says to me is that ABC wanted to use their Jenner interview to try and cash in at the ESPYs and get bigger ratings.

Also, you seem to be under the impression that someone gay or trans can get away with anything based on the actions of some rich privileged celebrity. When in reality, you still hear stories about people being fired from their job just for being gay.

That's right; a person can prey upon a defenseless and powerless minor and yet be seen to be simply "expressing him(her)self"; and yet be seen to simply be making a "personal choice".

Sexual deviancy has been taken off the books as a mental issue by the liberals in academia because it allows them to act on their base immorality

and yet supposedly speak from a position of social and ethical validity.

Short version: liberals lie; moral relativism is not morality at all; and

a large swath of America is too ignorant, unthinking, and un-empathetic to understand that evil is always more subtle that we give it credit for.

Gay people actually exist and having a counselor would actually help improve society.

A Christian counselor just prevents progress. At some people society is going to have to accept there is no God. And hopefully it will be sooner than later as it would solve a lot of our problems in the Middle East.

I was raised white trash irish Roman catholic. i still believe in god, heaven and in spite of my best judgement the birth of jesus christ. I teach my children Christian beliefs and they are there every Sunday. No one turns me off from Christianity more than the Irish, the Catholics, and the Christians.

I much rather be American that any of those.

My path to heaven is forgiveness, understating, and passion. Im sure i will not see many of you there.

I think when you have people telling other people what they can and cannot do, in this case have a team chaplain, then it does create division.

I do not care about what others do, but the point was that if it was something that was endorsed by main stream media, the left, and the groups that generally complain about what others do, while at the same time speaking out the other side of their mouth about tolerance, then it would be just fine and even celebrated. Some of the posters that have replied fail to see the hypocrisy in that. It kinda proves the point though.

I guess I just don't see the analogy...

Aug 29, 2015, 3:04 AM

Since a person can be both gay and identify as a Christian. It's not like the two things are mutually exclusive.

I know someone will reply and say that you can't be a gay Christian but I'd disagree. Granted, most denominations believe it's a sin but there are also churches that don't. To me, there's too many differing beliefs between denominations, and even among individual members, to make a blanket statement on what all Christians believe or don't, other than a sincere belief in Jesus.

That's just my opinion though, not trying to be an a$$ or anything...

Re: I guess I just don't see the analogy...

It is still a sin but it's no different than a sin Iike gluttony, anger, or insert sin here. People all have sins that they struggle with but they are still sins. Can a homosexual be a Christian? Maybe or maybe not depends if there has been a heart change. I can't judge if someone is saved all I can see is by their fruits. I know people that have struggled with homosexual but bc they are Christian has never given in to sinning. In our society today it is going to be a tough thing for Christians and the gay agenda to commingle but it's going to be in the media and it's going to be a topic for a long time.

Aug 30, 2015, 11:43 AM [ in reply to I guess I just don't see the analogy... ]

This is not an anti-gay post and I did not for it to read that way. It is more about how we live in a sad state when we a group thinks that having a chaplain on the team in a violation of anyones rights. The post is about the chaplain, not about homosexuality. The analogy is that if we had a gay counselor, it would be supported by the same group that says having a chaplain is a violation of rights. However, it would be the same thing. Like I said, if we had as many gay players as we do Christians, then I would support that, but the fact is, we do not.

There is no separation of homosexuality and state.

You're not making a logical analogy.

Since many gays are Christians, your analogy would have

Aug 29, 2015, 8:44 AM

been much better if you had used atheists instead of gays as your opposite. I agree with an earlier post in this thread. What do gays have to do with this? But you must be pretty high and mighty if you think you can proclaim they can't be Christians.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Of all the 'Christians,' in this country my guess is that...

Aug 29, 2015, 9:09 AM

about five percents are more than Christian by secular standards. Meaning, most are just religious people who identify with Christian because the fit the very loosest standard. But don't let that stop you from putting NAZI and other radical sect in the mix.

Christians don't live and die by politics, we seldom call wrong, right or right, wrong but we never condemn others. Justify what you want, it's not my place to tell you right from wrong so if you don't want to hear it don't ask.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-10yr.jpgringofhonor-clemsontiger1988-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Aug 30, 2015, 8:57 AM

Your overall claims throughout this seem to be that Christians who do bad things aren't really Christians.

Folks of other faith (or lack of) that do bad things are fairly commonplace.

My point is we Christians don't have a moral high ground, and those that claim as much are missing the point.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

There's no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people who ask questions.

My claim is the Cross and Jesus hanging there.

Aug 30, 2015, 9:33 AM

I have no moral high ground. That's indicative of pride. I'm as guilty as that thief who challenged The Christ to save them all by getting them off the crosses.

I don't believe that 95% of those who identify as Christian are Christian at all. It's just a way to differentiate themselves so that they can look down on others. Hippies, rednecks, Jews, Christian, muslims...all those categories are identities given to have someone to look down on.

I don't look down on others but I don't allow them to speak for me either.

I think we just had a misunderstanding.

that he set up. He's not picking on gay people. He's raising a point about how we are in a phase where we pick and choose our justice. It's not equality it's who can we exploit so as to get votes and weaken a majority by instilling fear of being labeled intolerant. Gay is just the flavor of the week.

Yall focus to much on the words and not the message
