thank you so much for bringing that up, great.. I'd love to hear an answer to that question! But the answer is: because they suck and they only want to play teams they think they can beat!

I think Heather was just stirring the pot by bringing up Scar's schedule.
Notre Dame obviously is better than any of UNC, UCF, and the Citadel.

And every year we go through this.
Every year when the schedule comes out the coots run their mouth about the cupcakes on our schedule because they are too ignorant to realize everybody in the country including theirselves schedule a couple of those games.
In fact a lot of the SEC teams schedule 3, sometimes even 4 cupcakes non conference. Heck I don't think either of the Mississippi schools played a power 5 team OOC last year.

from that pool of four opponents for their big time OOC opponent. I guess that's a little better than some of their SEC brethren are doing like Miss St. this past season.

"On Thursday, the ACC released its entire 2015 schedule. The league will play 12 nonconference teams ranked in ESPN's Way-Too-Early Top 25 rankings, more than double the number of any other Power 5 league. In 2015, the ACC also plays 38 percent of its nonconference games against Power 5 opponents, the highest percentage of any Power 5 league."

Four of our "cupcakes" scored more points than you guys did on us and four "cupcakes" in the ACC were 4-0 against the normal conference SEC opponents during rivalry week.

I'm going to assume this is just a trolling attempt and that you don't actually believe this stupidity.
What's funny is we've played the better programs in the SEC West just as many times as you have over the past few years and have a better record against them.

I can't count the number of times you dirtpeckers have whined to me over 20+ years about how "tough" the SEC is. Well it's clear you guys are out-classed in that conference. So quit whining.
You joined the SEC. Live with it and stop crying. It's really lame. Two thirds of the SEC isn't that good anyway. Clemson would compete very well in that conference.
You guys have zero conference championships in over 20 years - and your never-ending excuse is how hard the conference is. You guys asked for it. You got it. And have done nothing with it. The "tough" schedule is on your administration for joining the conference. And it's not that tough. Outside of three or four teams the SEC is not that good and the other Power 5 conferences are just as good.
And in 30 years in the ACC you won it once. Congratulations. 1969! Whoooo! One conference title in the last 45 years and most of those years you were in the ACC. So you did nothing when you claim you had an easy schedule either. Come back to the ACC and you won't win that conference championship either.
Man, this farce of the SEC being so tough is getting old.....

'Clemson would compete very well in that conference'
You have won one ACC championship in the last 20 years. What makes you think you could have won one in the SEC?

You don't have to win the conference to be competitive.
When is the last the time UGA won the conference? I would say they compete well in the SEC. Come to think of it when was the last time a team from the East won the conference?
You were competitive in the SEC for a four year stretch and the closest you got to an SEC title was a 40 point beatdown.

and that one conference championship was when all the other teams in the conference had a losing record. So you sorry coots have never won a conference championship in which at least one team in the conference had a winning record.

bwudder. How sweet.
Seriously, though, the SEC has been thoroughly exposed, finally, over the past few years both in major bowl games (you know, the ones SCar NEVER plays in), and in the fact that newbie Big 12 teams started their SEC tenure practically at the top of their respective divisions. (Really. You guys let Missouri leapfrog you only three years in? Funny stuff.)
Fact is, other than us, you play nobody relevant out of conference. The fact that UCF actually happened to be good the year you guys played them doesn't hide the fact that they were a nobody when scheduled. But that's okay, it's important for some people to continue to fool themselves, otherwise the true pecking order of things breaks down and invites chaos.
Keep on clucking!

Not hardly dickweed classless09. Other than uga, the $ec least is a cake walk. Yall would have had about the same record in the ACC this year with our schedule. Losses to GT, Louisville, FSU, probably NCST and to us of course is 5, and to uga is 6. Stop acting like you play a tough schedule, ur in the $ecleast, not the west. Time for you coots to #### now and go have another schlitz.

No not really. Clemson played the teams from the top of your conf not Vandy, UK, Ark, etc while scu plays the bottom of the ACC. You declined the game with FSU, don't play GT, VT, Louisville etc. it is what it is.

Sorry but you coots rarely play anybody from the west. You couldn't win in the $EC Least which is far worse than the farce that is the $EC west. Nobody believes the $EC hype anymore.
