on our sidelines. I don’t understand why everyone assumes that if you were a great player you will be a great coach…

Check out the careers of Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson.

The jury is till out on CJ. Our program is too big now to let coaches cut their teeth coaching major positions.

Other than Dion, where have those others ever coached?

It’s all about recruiting, recruiting, recruiting and Prime could recruit some players. Look what Mack Brown has done for UNC and what Spurrier did for USC! They beat us five years in a row with better recruits and we have beat them last six years because of recruits. 25% coaching!

And what has Mack done recently and outside of a SEC East Title and a few wins in a row against us what did Spurrier do. Yes you have to recruit, but you also have to teach those recruits to play together as a team.

It’s recruiting, teaching technique, and motivating. Could be appropriate for a former great player such as CJ, and he seems to be doing well so far.

Being a coordinator is a Completely different deal. You need a guy like Coach V who will study all hours of the night and scheme his asss off. Doesn’t matter what he ever did or didn’t do as a player.

Buckner is that hands in the dirt bring the ball carrier down type of dude. I believe he could bring that big man attitude in the trenches that matches up well with some of these SEC teams that try to bully and intimidate. He has NFL experience and has coached in there. I think he can get into these kid's morale on a different vibe.
