If the ACC survives it will be as a basketball conference

I could see Clemson, FSU, Miami, and possibly GT or NCSU joining the SEC for a total of 20 teams (seems to be the magic number floating around). I think it would be harder for the Tobacco Rd schools to leave the ACC. I see NCSU as the red headed step child of the state that would actually give a d@mn about football. They would add NC to the SEC portfolio and pretty much lock down the southern US from Texas to the east coast. ND, I’m sure, has an open invitation +1 to the B1G. Whatever is left of the ACC could try and pick up the scraps of other conferences and become a basketball first conference like the Big East has become. Or better yet merge with the Big East, dissolving the ACC, and nullifying the GOR.
I think a lot of these pipe dreams scenarios of the ACC adding ND, PSU, WVU, etc. would have worked if they had been done during one of the previous realignments. Unfortunately our conference leadership did not have that kind of long term vision. It’s time to jump ship and quit rearranging deck chairs
