Louisville is screwed when it comes to playoff regardless of

what they do - if Bama remains #1 there is no way they match up Lamar Jackson vs Bama in playoff and I can't imagine a one loss Louisville jumping to 2 or 3 - not that I really think two teams from a conference get in (yes I am going with the theory we win the ACCCG and get in)
The only thing for Bama right now however is there does not appear to be a grind it out offense that will make the playoff for them to pair off with in round one this time.
Should be interesting how they try and manipulate things as November gets closer.

The Big 12 winner can't be undefeated. In fact, the Cards best hope lies in there being none or, perhaps, one undefeated team...other than from the ACC.

that will give them 1 quality win and 1 quality loss.

I think they drop on the cfb playoff ranking. They pass the "eye" test and that's it. There best win up until the Houston game will be a 4 loss FSU team.

If same situation as last year - they get in over Oklahoma

I don't think it'll be the same situation this year. A 1 loss Pac 12 team gets in over Louisville. Louisville's only hope is that Washington loses one game prior to their Championship game and then loses the championship game to whoever the PAc12 south puts in.
I think the Big12 at best has a 1 loss champion but likely Oklahoma ends up winning it with 2 losses.

I don't see UL making it, even if they score 100 PPG. If CLEMSON wins out, Bama wins out, OSU/Michigan wins out, and Washington wins out - then the final 4 are set and UL is out. No way UL makes it if that scenario happens - and it very well could. No way they take 2 from ONE conference and leave one of the P5 conferences out. It just won't happen. UL can cry in their beer. They should have tried to play better and win last week.

No way will there be 4 undefeated teams

Two maximum and possibly none. That's how it works out every year - 12-0 (13-0 with conf championship game) is incredibly hard to do.

Agreed, but Cards will not get in over any 1 loss

conference champion either. Washington, Alabama, OSU/Mich, Clemson are not losing multiple games IMHO. That group of teams stands far and above any others, Houston included!! Louisville could drop the hammer on Houston and Cards are still not making it. This could be that year we see multiple undefeated teams, the unicorn of the CFP!

The powers that be are drooling to get a Michigan/Bama game in the first round. It's the only team that Bama could beat. Michigan has to beat Ohio State to get there however. Otherwise, Clemson, or Ohio State either one will knock the Tide out of the playoff...

assuming, of course, they win out, but they're going to need some help from other teams. The committee will manipulate the rankings to get the match-ups they want

ACC champion, SEC champion, PAC 12 champion, and B1G champion!!! That is your 4 team playoff without question. Big12 is looking like little12 right now, they are out.
Cards chances rest on the misfortune of OSU losing twice(not happening), Michigan losing twice(maybe but doubtful), SEC champ having multiple loses(nope), and Clemson somehow losing to 2 games which makes me sick to even think about, not happening!!!
Bye Felicia(as in Cards).

continues the way they are playing, then its fairly easy. tigers, bama, osu/mich, and huskies. the odds in getting 2 acc teams in final 4 are slim to none. the only possible scenario is for cards to destroy everyone left on schedule, including houston. the odds in them beating houston, much less killing houston, are not great. i don't see cards in final 4

Not really they have a easy road the rest of the season. They only have Houston I believe they will win out. We have to play at FSU the ACCCG and Pitt will not be easy. We slip up and Louisville cake walks the rest of the year. I could see them taking the Cards over us if we lose the ACCCG. Unless the Coastal has an undefeated or 1 loss team .

to conference champions. I think both the PAC 12 and Big 12 would have to have 2-loss champions in order for Louisville to get in. I think a 1-loss champion from either league still gets in over Louisville.
That is unless Clemson fails to win the ACC Championship Game. That would also open the door for UL, but only if Miami or UNC or whoever does win also has more than 1 loss.
SEC ACC BIG 10 PAC 12 Big 12
