Great win for the Tigers today.
Had to listen for a while on the radio.
Don Munson is just not a good announcer. He is an amateur. We had a pro in Pete Yannity and we fired him.
Don is not “Best Is The Standard”.
Sorry, just one guys opinion, we can do much better.

during this time period of winning championships. He is just terrible and should never hold this position at a program like Clemson.

I think he has a problem with his eyesight, never seems to know where the ball is going to be spotted, constantly fooled by play fakes, and also uses way too many pronouns

I agree, he used to call our high school games, Byrnes, he wasn’t very good then , not any better now!

I'd probably say no, but he does a lot of Friday night games in Fresno or Reno. Definitely at the "C" level of ESPN play by play guys who could, if ESPN had another huge layoff spree, could get tossed aside quickly.

Why in a time where you can watch everything would you listen to a game?
Do you mute the game on tv and sync up Tiger radio? The only way I’d ever do that is if Beth Mowins was on the call, but even that’s debatable if Munson is as bad at calling football games as he is at baseball games.

Some of us are parents with small children, constantly on the move, and don't have 3 1/2 hours of sit on our #### and watch football game in the middle of a Saturday. Radio is how take in 75% of our games now, I quit going to the games because my kids just have no interest. There are a lot of people in the same boat as me, and a quality radio announcer would be nice

The Gold Standard is Larry Munson. We will not find one of those but someone a little better than what we have would be nice. I listened to many Dog games just to hear Munson call it. The Hob Nail Boot call when the Dogs came off the mat in Knoxville was so famous that they sold posters with the call and and a backdrop of the stadium. They would have contests for fans to do their best impersonations of his most famous calls. It sure is nice to have a great announcer like that. Turn down the sound and find out what's actually happening on the field. Perhaps one day....

I agree Munson was the best with Jim Phillips a solid #2. Munson was entertaining wit that voice. I think after an Auburn game he said an Auburn fan just threw his drink in my face and it was more than just Coke.

Got a funny Munson story to share

So it was like 2015 and I was trying to get tickets to the Dabo/Brownell Prowl and Growl on the USS Yorktown in Charleston.
I had been living out of the country for about 12 years at that point and was getting ready to move back to Charleston with my Colombian (the country, not cootville) newlywed and was desperate to get tickets but they were sold out.
I tried everything because I really wanted my wife to experience Clemson that she knew was so important to me. So I had the bright idea to email Munson of all people with my story thinking he could get me tickets if anyone could.
He did write me back to his credit but said he couldn't help. I ended up posting on TNet and the guy in charge of the Prowl and Growl in Charleston got them for me like a champ!
So anyway, I am at the Prowl and Growl and the director makes this big speech about how I am home in Charleston, my Colombian wife for the first time in 12 years, and how we were dying to go to this thing. He then asks us to stand up in front of everyone and introduced us in front of the thousand-plus crowd.
Munson has the honor of walking the mic over to everyone and in the crowd that they were introducing (most ex-football players in attendance).
I can remember Munson looking white as a ghost as he remembered my email and was apologizing profusely for not helping us with the tickets before handing me the mic.
Instant karma!

Gravy with turkey. Sage in dressing. You guys would boo grandma’s efforts on a holiday meal. Munson does fine. The age of iconic and unique game announcers is over. Philips, Fulton, Munson, Jackson, Scully, Carey, et al, are dead or retired. Everyone else is ruthlessly pilloried by the peanut gallery. It’s the bane of the 21st century sports voice.
