if morris doesnt get the tech job...

Dec 10, 2012, 4:39 PM

will it be awkward having him around next year? knowing this guy interviewed like 3 times trying to get away?

interviewing is not trying to get away

why the heck wouldn't you interview for a head coaching job at a BCS conference school if you're a coordinator? You'd be dumb not to.

Not at all, it happens all the time. He is only trying to better himself. My concern is if he does not get it and the A&M OC does, will Chad go to A&M to be their OC since that is where he went to school.

No

too big of a price to pay finacially in his contract to make a lateral move. He will be a head coach soon one day at a BCS school and doesn't have to make anymore moves to get there.

Good Grief

The man has aspirations to be a head coach. It is not a slight to Clemson to want to do that. Thank goodness people want him, that means he has done a good job here. I hope he sticks around next year but if he gets a head coaching job we should pat him on the back, congratulate him, wish him well and go get the next great coordinator out there, maybe Kingsbury from TT.

No offense...

But how long have some of you followed college football for? Seems like this is the first time a lot of you have paid attention to the silly season.

People, most coaches want to become head coaches... At least once. This is understood by just about everyone, including their current head coaches. There is no "awkwardness", there is an understanding.

I agree with all wanting to become head coaches, but I also think they should give the courtesy of being OC for 4-5 years giving our HC the time to look at other replacements and giving our kids he recruited time to learn under him. Not to mention, you need that time to establish a "strong" resume which in my honest opinion he has struggled against high ranking opponents, could be due to soft nature of coaching from Dabo's character but still either one still having problems beating them.
