I've basically done that, but sometimes, under certain circumstances (33 fouls), the lunacy causes a relapse.

basketball officiating is bad no matter the conference...

even though in basketball they dont have conference refs..alot of the same guys do regional games and not conference based. But yes its bad, but also hard to be a bball ref. Not an easy game to officiate...probably the toughest of the main sports.

You should have seen the game. PJ gets absolutely mugged and no call. Then at the other end Appleby initiates contact by dribbling right into one of our guys and gets a foul called. Not sure if the missed calls will get talked about as much on radio.

refs are influenced by the unique factors of every game...it makes bball tough to watch at times. Officials really do dictate the game at times. The block/charge is just awful

The one that really stands out to was goes back to Dean Smith and JRReid days. We had unc on the ropes in ch and got a really bad call followed by a technical. That 6 point add-on from that made the difference in the game.
Reid was trapped in backcourt , surrounded by 3 tiger's. Reid slings his elbows which slams a defender in the nose. The assaulted tiger is called for the foul and then technical on our coach. That burns in my memory.
Virginia fans feel it and live it too.
