Tajh Boyd tidbit

Jan 8, 2013, 2:17 PM

Take it for what you will, but I was listening to Buck and Kincade here in Atlanta and they were doing an interview with Aaron Murray and he was talking about playing Clemson next year and how he and Tajh had become pretty good friends and they were texting back and forth about the game next year. Not trying to get my hopes up but could be great news. GO TIGERS!

otherwise.

Well looking at the draft board, he would be among the top

QB's this year. With a lot of teams looking. (as many as 10 teams with QB needs)

On paper it makes more sense to come out now for his position than next year.

I tend to disagree. Everyone is talking about the weak QB

class this year, but try to rattle off some big name NFL-type QBs who will be in next year's draft. Aaron Murray? AJ McCarron?

IMO next year's QB draft will be even weaker than this one. Meanwhile, Tajh is going to be getting a ton of publicity right out of the gate as a Heisman contender on a team that will start the season somewhere in or near the top 10.

You are never guaranteed tomorrow.***

If he were a RB i would absolutely agree. I don't think any

NFL-caliber RB should stay for their SR years in college given how short their careers are, and how often they suffer serious injuries.

QB is a different story though. Sure you can point to a guy like Matt Barkley, but his stock falling had more to do with his (and his team's) performance this year than it did his injury. He was also projected much higher than Boyd and had a lot more to lose by coming back.

I really believe Tajh can gain a lot by coming back. Nuk

on the other hand, should probably leave this year. It would be awesome if he came back, but it would have to be a personal decision and not a professional one because his stock is probably at it's peak right now. He's ready for the NFL and he's coming off a huge season.
