Some schools have now set up NIL arrangements that offer guaranteed payments to all players at certain positions (e.g., at Texas, all scholarship offensive linemen will receive a guaranteed $50,000 annually).
The NCAA really dropped the ball on this while NIL thing. Rules are very limited and vary by state.
In the states where those rules don’t exist yet, it’s up to the schools to determine whether those activities are consistent with state law.
The main NCAA restrictions on NIL was that schools would be prohibited from “pay-for-play and improper recruiting inducements,” but that is absolutely happening and NIL has become the wild west. The longer the NIL continues with a patchwork of rules, the more schools/people will push the boundaries. This exploitation will change the game for the worse.

But, the money does get to the heart of the matter. If he just wants the money right now, the odds are great that he won’t be coachable. So FSU sounds like the right match for him.

Regardless of the reason for his change of heart, beating the brakes off FSU Saturday and for the next 4 years would be a great and appropriate response from the Tigers.

a complete and thorough behind kicking is owed for them weaseling out of their home game with us 2 years ago. Considering the way we folded years ago after Ford and let them own the ACC I would love to see us dominate them for many years to come.
