Are you freaking kidding me? This is probably one of the best coaches that clemson has hired. His positive, upbeat attitude make players want to come to him, play for him, and "Get ups" with him after a huge play. Things can only go up. Yeah South carolina sucks, but none of our old coaches have ever faced a south carolina team like dabo has. These south carolina teams are good, simple as that. Don't make excuses, don't tell me that we could have played better if you guys thing our players dont play to their full potential, even against a rival you are an idiot(not using the R word). I think we should have won that game yes, but look at all these players that want to be here. Gallman? Are you serious? This kid has the heart for this place like spiller did and if you give him a chance he will produce. HE WILL PRODUCE. You tell me any time a player has jumped up with frank beamer or steve spurrier. GIFs NOT INcluded.

Dont sweat it man, obviously you are truly realistic. This board, and most of the posters will drive you nuts. My buddies are coaches and refs and call me crazy for even looking at this board but I can not help it. I do agree with you and Merry Christmas!

minority among our fanbase. I think most of us appreciate him as our coach and can see the progress being made.
Losing 4 in a row to the coots is unacceptable, but the majority of Clemson fans do like him.

It's not that I don't like Dabo because I do.
But there are issues that concern me that I do not think has his full attention:
Strength and conditioning is one.We appear soft on the "O" and "D" lines.Carolina basically has their way with us the past three years.Could you image how we would stack up in the SEC,or Big 12?
Yes,the carolina teams are good,but there is no excuse for losing to the coots in your back yard in a Sat. nite game half of Clemson nation begged for, and especially after this same coot team lost a similiar night game at LSU.Or maybe LSU was just better which then makes thembetter than us.
Coaching adjustments.IMO,we were outcoached by both Spurrier and Fisher this year ,and basiclally had no answers in the second half of either game.
Finally this thing about players wanting to play for Clemson,and Dabo is not exactly a good argument because there are kids across this nation that want to play for Sabin,Miles,Myers,Richt,Kelly( Notre Dame),Muschamp and so on.
So my biggest concern with Dabo is getting this program on a level where they can compete consistently with the "Big Boys".I'm not saying your going to win every game,but if you want national attention,you don't get it by beating the Ball States of the world or an Auburn team in decline after Cam's gone.

0-4 against SOuth Carolina. Very hard to swallow. Also 1-3 in Bowl games. I do like his attitude, but I still think he needs to prove himself. He won the ACC, and of course thats good. And his ACC recorded this year is even better, in fact its the best Clemson ACC record since 81. But if your going to play the "USC is better than they ever been" card, then you must also play the "ACC is the worse they ever been" card as well, cause the ACC is down right terrible. YEs USC has had there best years lately (not in 2009) but they played the last two years against us without there best weapons (Lattimore, Shaw) and our unstoppable offense scored 31 points on them....in TWO games. 3 points total the last 2 quarters. In fact, we play very poor when facing good teams, but play great when playing poor teams. I hope that changes next year.

...where this statement about players wanting to desperately play well for Swinney just doesn't hold water. Any SCar game in his era. WVU. All examples of a team demoralized and de-energized by halftime or so.

up during games. Even some players commented such after the Coot game. If you can't get excited during home games then when can you?

OP is proof that Dabo appeals to the cheerleader crowd. How many players you think "jumped up" with Bear Bryant, Vince Lombardi, Danny Ford, or most other great coaches? I'll tell you, none, because there was a level of respect and fear, not the "I'm yo dog" attitude that Dabo exhibits with his players.
