The top two seeds getting a first round bye.

#3v#6
#4v#5

Then 4v5 winner playing #1
And 3v6 winner playing #2

Top two in championship game

I don't mind 8 but I wanted to reward the top two. So six made more sense to me.

Each of the Power 5 Conference Champions, plus the highest rated non-power 5 team. Pretty much take the human element (and ESPN SEC bias) out of the equation!

No it doesn't. You would always have 2 SEC teams in the playoff.

Why?

It's a beauty contest.

Right now you would award 2 teams with one loss and make a team in a Power 5 conference play an extra game.

That makes tons of sense.

Plus with 6 teams you will always have 2 SEC teams and one representative of the other 4 power conferences.

conferences, plus one non-conference team. Or go with 5 teams and one play-in game between the two lowest rated teams.
