I was adopted in NC when I was 35 days old. My adoption was legally closed. In the mid 2000s, DMC found out he was adopted and fought to find his biological parents. He lobbied and had several legal issues passed to help adopted individuals.

His work opened the closed file that revealed my biological parents. I have known my biological mother for 10 years now. We are going out next week for Mother’s Day dinner. She did the right thing. I have no idea how difficult it was for that 17 year old young lady to decide to do what she did. I owe DMC. Because of him, I will hug the woman who made me next week.

This song isn’t great for most, but it means the world to me because he is responsible for legally opening my adoption file.

My good bud was adopted and he wants nothing to do with his parents. His feelings are completely opposite.

Just like everything single darn thing in life, it’s hard and I will never know how to feel about it as I have never walked in those shoes.

Exact reason I don’t harp about abortion. I can’t understand it from either side, so I just pray for us all.

Before we had kids we asked if he had any interest in tracing back to see if there were any known potential health problems

He had zero interest and we respected that
