I wouldn't buy anything from Elon Musk

Apr 12, 2022, 7:13 AM

Doesn't matter what he's selling. Electric cars, internet, or rocket ships. None of it.

Weird. Elon Musk just told me

He wouldn't buy anything from you either.

What a coincidence.

Cereally tho, Tesla's quality control seems to suck but where would the world be without his leadership on EVs. He is the Tony stark of our time imo

They are a ###### car wrapped around a good battery and motor.

Fortunately all the legacy brands getting in to the EV game will force Tesla to step up.

Porsche already forced their hand and Tesla fixed the overheating issue on tracks. Now you can actually drive the Model S hard for more than one 0-60 run without it shutting down.

Their software/hardware has been lightyears past everyone

else too. The manufacturing processes have been the letdown, which is to be expected I assume (but not excused). This would pizzz me off though if it were my car.

Being complete trash. Disappointing. Lucid looks like a great car tho.

Not even his reusable solid boosters that cost 1/4 of Boening's best offering, but with 12x the payload?

The landing of those things are badass

you might want to check your numbers

Apr 12, 2022, 5:02 PM [ in reply to Re: I wouldn't buy anything from Elon Musk ]

First, Boeing has not launched a rocket in decades.
Second, nobody has reusable solid boosters and SpaceX does not use solid boosters anyways.
Third if you are comparing Starship to Boeing's SLS, neither has launched one yet. SLS is launching this year and Starship is still probably years away. SLS really isn't Boeing anyway, it is NASA and over 1000 contractors. Boeing is the prime contractor though.

Boeing does own half of ULA but they have little input on day to day operations.

SLS is designed to go to the moon. Starship gets to low earth orbit and must be refueled to get to the moon. Starship might be more promising in the future.

SLS is scheduled to launch in June. Starship has only flown a booster by itself so far all but one prototype blew up.

Musk sure claims a lot about low cost and reusability, but he is either pocketing the cash or lying because he is sure still getting a lot of tax payer dollars for only a modest reduction in cost (talking F9's here)

Take your word for it, just know his rocket is 12x better payload capacity than somebody else's booster, it might have been that he said it could take a fully loaded 747 up, just going from memory here.

He's the king of government cheese and has the temerity to whine about government waste, lol.

What a farce.

To Tiggity®'s OP, it's too bad that he (and the rest of us) have already 'bought' a bunch of Elon Musk stuff. Involuntarily.

Thank you profuscious for reminding everyone that Elon Musk is the quintessential crony capitalist.
