Fursirious: How many games do you project will have exclusively ACCN TV coverage?

Aug 25, 2019, 11:01 PM

I have Sling = I don’t have ACCN.

If ACCN is gonna carry more than 2-3 games exclusively, I gotta either switch streaming providers AND/OR find a way to attend more games in-person...

Anybody got any substantive insights on what the reigning champs might expect with regard to television coverage this year?

TIAing you all thankfully and in advance.

I would suspect that one of the "lesser" quality

games like Wofford or Charlotte will be covered on ACCN... If you don't feel like switching, you can always watch at your local sports bar. Or watch it later via the person who uploads the game on YouTube without commercials afterwards.

Its a good question, and I had to consider the same thing.

Being a cord cutter who dropped Sling in the off season, I was starting from scratch like you are, having only Netflix, Amazon Prime and a good antenna. I have used Sling in prior years for $25 to get ESPN, but of course youtubeTV and the others are in the $50 range. So is 2-3 games per year worth the extra $25? I decided 'yes' (for youtubetv) for two reasons:

1. I dropped Netflix to get the monthly cost to within $10-15 of Sling. Netflix has a few things youtubetv doesn't have, but nothing that changes my life. $15/mo doesn't change my life either, but that was where I had drawn the line.
2. DVR capability of youtubetv. By using that I can capture stuff to replace what Netflix would have, and if (horrors) I have to be somewhere during part or all of a game I want to watch, I don't have to miss it. And - this was a shock - I started watching some baseball again.

I do like youtube tv so far. I don't use the app on the roku, but cast from my ipad to the roku. Picture quality is the same, and operating from the tablet is a somewhat easier than using a remote. And you don't misplace a tablet.

Will reassess after the season.

To be honest, I like the youtube tv, and as long as the price stays close to where it is now, I can't see ever going back to spectrum!!!

My sitchy ayshun is identical. Gonna drop Sling and Netflix. Probably gonna run YTTV through native AppleTV app, which I control with my iPhone anyway. Hadn’t thought much about YTTV DVR capability - even more reason to pick em up.

I don't have an idea on the total but I know whichever game is on the ACCN will only be on the ACCN.

ESPN is not going to put Clemson on the ACCN and another ESPN channel at the same time.

This doesn't happen with the SECN and I would imagine the policy for ACCN will be the same.
