..a down in CFB and would be carried off the field on a stretcher, and so I kinda admire how Conner Shaw can take the punishment he does and still play. With that said, do you go after a QB like that knowing he might not be able to take the pounding, or is that dirty FB? I remember some of the hits the Tiger D laid on Major Harris and how he stood up under that. As tough as he is, I don't think Shaw could take that sort of pounding...

i would say that it's ok to go after the quarterback cleanly. in other words, pressure him, sack him, rush him, blitz him, tackle him, etc...just don't play dirty and tackle dirty and hit dirty. but there's no problem with playing tough football and hitting hard---as long as it isn't dirty. (Auburn, for example, played dirty a couple years ago in my opinion--the year they won the championship).

just knock the mangus outta him,every time he drops back to throw, and don't even think about totin' the rock! let'em feel the wrath of the past 3 years. thats alot of payback. just be clean about it, we're not auburn.

that kind of a pounding. I do think we'll bring the heat often next week, but my concern is Shaw running out of it in broken plays. I don't think any of us need reminding that we struggle against qbs who do that. If he's scrambling, he'll be able to slide and avoid most big hits. I don't see him standing in the pocket and taking licks.
