Just so we are clear before the Verdict is read

Apr 20, 2021, 4:32 PM

Taking a knee during the national anthem should result in a person losing their job and being incessantly shamed by right-wing media for years on end.

A police officer taking a Knee on a suspect's neck while he is prone and in restraints, resulting in his death, nothing to see here?

Do I have this right?

act; it spits in the face of everyone who died for our country.

Floyd deserved the knee to the neck (for a while); Chauvin went overboard - and he's about to get jail time for it.

Re: I do believe disrespecting the National Anthem is a shameful

A few questions:

-How is taking a knee "disrespecting" the National Anthem?
-If the person doesn't intend it to be an insult to those who died for our country, then why would it be considered that?
-Why did Floyd deserve the knee for a while?

do it. If he didn't intend for it to be an insult - he should have stopped when he found out it was.

Knee to the neck for resisting arrest... If you resist arrest, you should expect to get roughed up a bit.

But that's the person's personal choice.

Apr 20, 2021, 4:53 PM

And 100 percent his right. You also have the ability to ignore his actions. So what's the problem?

Using a knee to the neck isn't a standard police procedure to restrain a suspect nor is it necessary to stop someone from resisting arrest. Thus, it shouldn't have happened for even a minute.

His right - yes. My right (and others) to completely

Apr 20, 2021, 5:03 PM

disagree.

One of my kids - playing in a 12U (I think) baseball game. The National Anthem starts playing on a nearby soccer field. Those kids (unprompted) stopped playing, took off their caps and turned toward the music. THAT's showing reverence and respect to the country and those who've fought for it.

Don't have much use for Kap - never will.

Don't have much use for a drug addict, fake money passing, arrest resister - never will. Floyd didn't deserve to die - but a knee to the neck to calm him down is fine.

Re: His right - yes. My right (and others) to completely

Apr 20, 2021, 5:06 PM

Hey man, that's fine. And that's great on the kids. I think Balm's point (and I agree) is that it would be nice to see some of the folks who went ballistic (not you) over Kapernick exhibit some of the same outrage over Floyd.

As for the knee, police are trained with other ways to subdue suspects and as we see with this case, for good reason.

In regards to murders, I find it interesting that the level of outrage for both sides of the aisle depends on the race of the victims and perpetrators. Former NFL player kills a family in Rock Hill and conservatives on TNet create topics and rant about it. White officer kills Floyd and liberals on TNet create topics and rant about it. Not much introspection happening in today’s us vs them society.

If you resist arrest - you should expect to get roughed up as you are being encouraged to calm down.

How is me flying the confederate flag disrespectful if I only intend to celebrate the good parts of the south and have to ill intent?

Because we know they are kneeling during the national anthem to protest the country and you, Mr. Whiteboy, for being a part of their oppression. It's as offensive to me as the confederate flag is to "them."

Who done it?

This is a picture of United States Soldiers killed in action at the battle of Gettysburg. They made the ultimate sacrifice for our American flag and Constitution. They are honored by us every Memorial day for their service to our country. Who was responsible for the deaths of these men? It's multiple choice.
