One of Clemson's Greatest Plays

As David Hook says in his article today ( I looked toward the WestZone and saw the corner where Georgia quarterback James Jackson was tackled for a safety in 1987) he named one of Clemson's greatest plays in football.
For those of you not there or too young or not even born then, that was one of our greatest plays ever. It looked for sure like we were going to lose to Georgia that day only for us to down the ball on the 1-foot line and then swarm (and I mean swarm) all over Jackson for the safety. That was our defense at it's best. Then, of course, Treadwell kicked the winning field goal with no time to spare.
It was unforgettable.

Nope. Actually, that was the year after Treadwell kicked the game winner down there. Two in a row for Treadwell to beat the puppies. I was at both games - it was beyond sweet. Had an old lady (80 yr. old) UGA fan flipping us off as we walked out behind her (and we weren't even saying anything). Fantastic!!

Terry Allen made some tough runs in that final drive. That may have been the greatest game I ever saw at Clemson.

in the 4th quarter to go up 9 after they had bobbled
the kickoff after Nuk's TD and Boyd's 2-Pt conversion
catch from Nuk. Awesome sequence of events.

I remember this game well. I went hunting so I taped the game. After hunting I was eating and asked the people at the table not to give the score. An old man looked right at me and told me Clemson won 21-20. I never knew if he was being a jerk or if he thought I asked for the score. At any rate, I remember watching the game and thinking the only way the old man could be right is if we got a safety. Lo and behold ... LOL. I think David Treadwell's kick would have been good from 65 yards.

On a QB sneak, we came out of the pile with the ball.
Also, so dumb of Vince Dooley to not use any timeouts on our final drive.
