how things have changed!

We finished 2nd in the ACC with a 4-1-1 record, but were only 4-5-1 overall.

For some reason, we didn't play UVA, thus playing only six conference games! And UVA only played 5 conference games that year!

Our four non-conference games were UGA, GaTech, Alabama & Auburn, with only Auburn being at home!

Can you even imagine an OOC schedule like that today? It would never happen!

My freshman year too. Ibrahim Ibrahim taught me chemistry lab that year. Boy did things ever change for him.

I played soccer for Coach Ibrahim from '68 to '71 and started to understand how much football meant in the south. Football did not win consistently back then but it was still the top dog. The entire athletic scene has been a blessing recently. It was a good time to retire near Clemson three years ago.

I was in Coach Ibrahim's chemistry lab. I would not have past chemistry had it not been for him. I had Dr Bishop for chemistry. Small world.

My freshman year too, but your memory is way better than mine.

All I can remember is CFH only called 4 plays. Gore to the left, Gore to the right, Gore up the middle, Punt. And sitting in the pouring rain watching us try to win just ONE conference game to see which team was the bottom of the conference. I think we beat Maryland that day.

Yes - things have changed drastically.

And my Chem lab assistants were the pits, and almost got me burned. I forgot (and still have no idea which way) if you could pour base into acid or vice versa, and they told me it was okay. Stuff spewed back up at me and scared the crap outta me. I barely missed getting the stuff all over me.

That was my senior year, and I'll bet you would

agree that none of us imagined Death Valley looking like it does today, much less the national titles we have won.
