We are seeing the sad dichotomy of stupidity play out

The "Making guns illegal won't stop people from getting guns" crowd is all "Making abortions illegal will definitely stop all abortions"

Man, you are really dumb. If you believe that's an apples-to-apples comparison, you are bad off.

It is an apples-to-apples comparison

But they are both strawman statements.

I'm sorry, the second is a strawman statement

The first is not. But the comparison is valid.

Ditto for you.
Guns are everywhere and forever will be. Just like the stupid "gun-free zones" that you probably support, the first people to not play by the rules if guns are outlawed will be criminals. Understand this: they will have guns but you will not. Every criminal will have a gun, but no one else will. How does that sound? Does that give you any ideas about unintended consequences? I'll give you a hint, look at the looting that is happening now in CA and the uber-libby areas, basically being condoned by you people. Multiply that by 100x and you may be close to the situation if only criminals were to have guns and if they KNEW they were the only ones with guns.
Abortion clinics are not everywhere and if they are outlawed it is easy enough to close 100% of them down. They are brick and mortar locations with business licenses, etc We know where they are.
Sure you may have non-medical people doing abortions illegally if they were outlawed, but that's nothing but an example of natural selection. Illegal abortions DO NOT PUT THE PUBLIC IN ANY DANGER. The only person in danger is the person breaking the law.
You still think the comparison is valid?

The fact someone has to point this out to you is revealing and is one of the reasons I read this board - to understand how dense the average liberal is and how they think. It is fascinating yet concerning.

Yes, it's very simple.

Both statements are talking about laws inherently preventing something from happening.
The truth is in the middle, as usual, in both cases.
Laws DO NOT prevent every instance of wrongdoing. Laws DO prevent some instances of wrongdoing. That's why we have them (the laws).
You seem to be assigning political opinions to me, that I do not hold.

So, I'm just gonna argue things are more nuanced than that.

I don't think you can neatly package folks like that. I'm pro gun rights. I do not think guns should be blamed for the actions of bad people. But I do favor making it a little more rigorous to buy one.
I'm also very torn in a lot of directions on abortion. In the basic sense, I'm opposed to it as birth control. But I also know it's far more complicated of an issue than that and there is no "one size fits all".
Anyway. This seems a little too much of a black and white approach to both issues.

generally find people who are militant about it to be loathsome....That said, having a kid has definitely refocused the way I look at it. I mean, you are killing your child. Maybe there in the early stages you could make the argument that 'it's not life', but in that case why not just take a plan b pill or something? If you're waiting until 12 or 13 weeks to have an abortion, I kind of think you're a huge POS. If there is a helll, you're heading there for that. I think 13 weeks was when we found out my sons gender, I couldn't imagine being like "nah, we good" at that stage of pregnancy. This is obviously assuming no health issues in baby or mama.
IMO it's also used as birth control more times than not. But I'm also of the mindset that someone who is contemplating abortion is probably going to be a ###### parent. We don't need more ###### kids with ###### parents, we've got enough of the low IQ underclass roaming around. So if you're good with killing your own kid, I certainly won't be one standing in your way.

Teaching imbeciles how to read and understand things. I never said I wasn't posting here again.
But teaching you how to read has been quite a process over the years.

You mean it’s too easy for a criminal to get one? I agree!

and yes, as a rule of thumb, you get what you pay for. Half of the kids in this country can not find the USA on a blank globe, and that seems fine with a lot of people.
