but why Auburn? We should be pulling out all the stops to win that game as it will be important for our SOS at the end of the season.

bigger than football? Not only is Dabo teaching an appropriate life lesson to a young kid he is also sending a very strong message to the rest of the team. In the long run that message might just help us to not lose a top player for an even bigger game!

Why Auburn?Simply because it is the first game, and a nationally televised one at that.Sitting Sammy for Ball State SERVES NO PURPOSE AT ALL if all you are going to do simply slap him on the wrist with a game that isn't even scheduled for tv.
Secondly,to heck with with our SOS.You are talking about a young man who made a bad choice.
I for one think the punishment is fair if for one reason and one reason only.He is thinking of Sammy's future and not some game that will have no bearing WHATSOEVER on Clemson's post season play.
Auburn is not a conference game,and Clemson(unlike Alabama) won't play for any championship in any BCS Bowl if they don't take care of business in conference.
Maybe you should look at the whole picture because you obvisiously don't have Sammy best interest at heart.All you seem to care about is beating Auburn.

why isn't usuc's 3rd-4th string qb getting ANY punishment? drinking and driving is ok,i guess, at least in sos's mind.

We can take care of Auburn without Sammy Watkins. If no one noticed Nuk had his first real off season ever to bulk up and get faster and he did. He can step up and carry this team at WR if he has to but he doesn't with the talent we have there. WE ARE DEEEEEEEEEP at WR. This also saves Sammy for later. If this was a suspension at QB or RB id be worried but not WR. Also this was the correct punishment and sets the bar high for everyone else as well. No one player is above the programs and there are consequences for misconduct of any kind. Sammy is a stand up guy and will respond to this and be one of the best WR again this year.

i'll say that even with the 2 games, sammy will put up better #'s than he did last year. he also had an off seson to bulk-up and get faster, and will be in the 2nd yr. of our system, along with it being tajh's 2nd year starting.

Because this is life!!!! If you want to play, you should not be so stupid.
Punishment can not be determined by who you play. What kind of message does that send? Oh, go ahead and do whatever, we will only suspend you for the lesser games. What message does that send?
