married to each other and they fairly regularly referred to something as being "gay" . . . a song, a shirt, their way out there, flamboyant friends, etc. (And it was awesome - broke tension, showed maturity in being able to make fun of themselves, and was open and honest. Really refreshing instead of the "burden of having to carry the cause on my shoulders" approach that seems to be the way of most any group that feels slighted or oppressed.)
PLEASE tell me this isn't another case where it is OK for some people to use a phrase or word but NOT OK for other people . . . or that it has to be said with a different ending consonant or inflection ?
Getting very tiring . . .
And don't pot shot and run, EOYOT . . . make some sense out of this thing that is so offensive to you but used frequently by others of the same sexual orientation.

It doesn't bother me in the slightest to refer to something as 'gay' when it does, in fact, imply that it would be something related to homosexuals.
If one of my straight friends were to be caught in skinny jeans and a popped-collar polo, I'd laugh and call him a 'total gaywad'. It's not insulting to call something what it is.
What's insulting is to use it as a euphemism for 'stupid', or 'bad', or 'unappealing'. We call USC 'Usuck' because we despise their program. We call them the 'Lamecocks' because their program is lame. Well this board has a habit of calling UGA 'Ugay' as if to imply that it makes them inferior. If their fanbase is 'gay', that makes them inferior to our 'straight' fanbase? What are you trying to say?
Would a team of gay athletes necessarily be inferior to a team of straight athletes? That makes no sense - sexual orientation has no bearing on the ability to perform on the field, as far as I know.
Sorry if I'm coming off as sensitive, but it seems everyday I read threads here such as 'This national announcer on WCCP mentioned his partner, so I turned off the radio'. ###? That really offends you so much that you felt his credibility was ruined? I understand this board is heavily Christian (as am I), and many Christian sects believe that it's wrong to have a different sexual orientation than themselves, but I don't think that's very Christlike to hate a group of people and regularly use gay slurs in place of insults.
How about we brainstorm some new insults for UGA? How about uGPA (bad academics joke)? Something about their arrest records? Anything seems more prudent than just calling them gay.

Why would you ignore what Jesus said in Matt? Or what Paul states in 1 cor 6:9,10? You do know God used Paul to write 11 books of the new testament?

Why do so many try to argue against the bible when they're so clueless to it? First of all one of the ignorant things that stupid website misses, is that Jesus made pork and shell fish good as he told Peter to kill and eat. Also when you're using most of that, we're gentiles and not jews, so most of that law was for the jews, not us. Also Jesus fulfilled the law and also Jesus and the new testament held against gay marriage. So no, Lev isn't all we use, go read 1 cor 6:9,10. Also read what Jesus defined marriage as in Matthew. Any other things you need to be explained?

I just think it's inappropriate to use it as an insult, that's all.
No issue: "You sound super gay when you talk 20 minutes of fashion with my wife." or "My gay uncle thinks Sammy Watkins is sexy"
Issue: "If you think Spurrier is a good coach, then you're just gay." or "Don't be gay, man, UGA isn't going to win in Death Valley this year."
