That's not fair to Dabo at all.

It should be obvious that both Brownell and Dabo are not racist. They have both devoted their careers to helping student-athletes, most of whom are black, to achieving in their sport, in the classroom, and in life. Both are outstanding men who are as genuine as they come. We are fortunate to have both at Clemson.
Just because Dabo didn't release a statement when some people think he should doesn't mean that he doesn't care or isn't doing the right thing here.

You're Spot on Judge, it's not fair that Dabo is being held to, quite frankly, standards that 99% us could never meet. He's being ###### for any move he makes; every position is being attacked.
However, one can still prefer Brownell's response to Dabo's. And, that shouldn't be, and doesn't have to be, a slight to Dabo.
If I gave Dabo a A-, I would give Brownell's response a A,....and I would give Amanda Butler an A+.
However, I'm also wise enough to know it's not about what he says publicly. It's what he does with the team, from day to day. His actions, from day to day. He's words from day to day. That's what really counts.
If there was a problem, we wouldn't have the diverse class of students athletes we've had the last 12-13 years in our football program. That is what really counts!!

the idea that someone has to "release a statement" to prove that they aren't racist is ludicrous. So living a certain way and walking the walk every day isn't enough? Some celebrity can release a statement and literally "do" nothing to help people of color and they are a hero? Our society is so stupid...

Good comments. I assume Coach Butlers 46 reference is in regards to this being women's hoops 46th year.

Where's the talk about the number one thing killing black Americans? Black killing black. I don't see that discussed much or at all. Numbers . . not even close to anything else.

To be a conversation, everyone needs to be able to speak and be heard. One side or group preaching about what needs to happen doesnt accomplish anything. Above all else, words are a lot of hot air. Actions are what really count.
