as the next head coach of Clemson basketball he is an assistant coach with the cleveland cavaliers he could come back to his old school and be the head coach like juwan howard came bcak to michigan to be th head coach if clemson makes a coaching change

Only 2 problems with Greg; One is "if" Clemson makes a coaching change. The 2nd "if" lays with Greg wanting the job.

I think we should swap Brad Brownell and Amanda Butler

for one season. If one or the both coaches lead the teams to a better record than the year before they get to keep their job on a 1 year contract. They keep getting these additional contracts for each year they do better and then get a 2 year extension when they make the tourney. Miss the tourney during your 2 year extension and you go back to the 1 and done scenario again.

That’s a great idea. He played in the era when we had a good coach- R Barnes

Maybe. But with caution.

Being an assistant coach (especially in the NBA) is much different than leading a college program.

Up until he got in to coaching, he’d always come back to Clemson

during the nba offseason and play pickup games at fike. Sometimes he’d bring TC with him but most of the times he’d be by himself. Like the rest of us back in college, he loved playing pickup games at fike and he said even though he was an nba player, he still loved coming home every year and playing back at Clemson.

Although there have been a lot of good players come through Clemson, Greg Buckner is my all time favorite. He not only was a good player he is a good person who took time to chat with me when he came back for a reunion game. I passed by him in the concourse and said hello and he acted like he had known me all his life. I thanked him for being a true Tiger and the chance to meet him after watching him play for us.
It really made my day. I can still hear good ole Jim Phillips saying Buckner jams to beat the Tarholes in the first round off the ACC tourney.
