Putting the ball in the basket. This is the Prime Directive in Basketball. Do that reliably, and everything else falls into place.

I say we should get better at taking a charge. If we can draw a charge every possession they will never score and we can take our time making a good straight shot uncontested

How about practicing working the ball inside to score? What kind of coach continues to allow his players who are poor outside shooters to keep attempting to do something that they proven time and again as consistently inadequate. BB's philosophy is: If you're open- shoot! That's great if you CAN shoot. We cannot. Our players are built to drive and play within 15 feet of the basket. Brownell has been coaching a long time- he just doesn't get it and never will!

We actually had a screen/roll with Simms & another play with a backdoor cutter that is actual high percentage basketball. Nobody on this team can create their own shot going to the basket, but with something called teamwork, these athletes playing basketball can be much more successful.

If this team will start working the ball inside and taking high percentage shots they will build confidence. With that rebuilt confidence they can start taking threes again.

Pre Wuhan, they looked to be taking it to the hoop and working it inside ... looked really snappy, scampering around like Gang Busters ! BUT, post Wuhan ... its back to the past decade style of hot potato around the key with a brick heaved at the end. Some of those shots barely glanced off the rim, it really was quite pitiful.
